Check out the sweet CETME. It even has the right mags.

which is fine, as I liked Oblivion, but that's not how Fallout is supposed to be

From that picture it kind of reminds me of Stalker.

It might not be top down isometric view, and we haven't seen anything when it comes to dialog, but it is by far the number one game I am looking forward to.

Thing that sucks is I'm going to be in Iraq when it ships and I'll have to wait for it to get to my APO, but I'm looking forward to getting off missions then relaxing by exploring my virtual wasteland.

The only thing I'm worried about is the combat. I hope they're going the Mass Effect route and ditching the shitty, clunky "RPG-style Combat" of yore. I don't think I can ever go back to that.

From what I understand you will be able to tweak the settings so that you are running a top down view similar to the old game if you want to (at least in parts). I can't remember where I read that.

It's supposed to be set in the D.C. area.

D.C.  And, I'c kind of hoping it is Oblivion in post-apocolyptic D.C.  While I like the RPG style of the first two Fall-Outs, I really prefer FPS style, feels more immersive gameplay wise.

I never did get stalker to run correctly on my windows or linux PCs, so I'm really needing something to fill the 'wander around a post-apocolyptic environment in an NBC suit and an AK' hole in my soul.

I am eagerly looking forward to this game.  I liked the old turn based combat system.  I may (probably WILL) have to upgrade hardware to run it.

I'm stoked for this ... I liked the old-school turn-based RPG-style combat when that was the current-school. Now it's dated. I don't want to be selecting menu option after menu option during a bajillion hours of gameplay. Hopefully Bethesda can figure out a way to make both groups happy.

I agree. I hope they prove me wrong. Hey, at least it has Dogmeat in it.
