| I was asked to donate to the Fraternal Order of Police for my state. Is it a worthwhile organization to support? Does a high percentage of the money collected go to helping police officers and their families? |
Like all orgainizations, the rank and file usually have vastly different opinions than the management. I'm a member and it is pretty much a social club, which is nice, but it does have perks. Check out www.grandlodgefop.org. Might want to post this in the Brothers forum. You'll get fewer comments about shooting dogs than here. |
Yes I concur, Police get enough money and backing, especially the organizations supporting ammo serialization. They won't get a cent of charity from me. If the FOP started pushing for nationwide CCW for all citizens, and not 'peace officers', I'd consider it. They are a union, and I don't support unions. |
