I know diddly about the FN Scar.  Friend purchased this used. Is looking for a replacement piston. Im guessing the previous owner fired corrosive ammo a lot.  Its a 556.  Can anyone suggest a replacement piston ?

Hory chit!

Eta: LA? Flood damage? Corrosive 5.56 isn't really common.

Something is telling me that the seller did not disclose that minor detail.  WTF?

That thing is fine. Keep shooting. BTW, I doubt it was from corrosive 5.56.

I have well over 2500 rounds through my Scar16 and the piston looks clean as the day I got it.

Something wrong there.  Did the previous owner put a solvent in there to clean it against manufacturers advice then fail to clean it all out ?

It almost looks like a copper solvent was used.

Not to say that it wont continue working for quite some time, but that is not normal. I would talk to FN about it and get a replacement JIC.

No idea about previous owner . Humidity stays high here near 100%
