Ya know, I reread what was supposed to be a rant about dogs, and it came across as a  lot more "poor me" than I would like.   So I'm going to 86 the post.  Sorry guys.

I sorries. You seem to have an optimistic outlook on it, which is good. You two will definitely be stronger after it all. Gold frickin' star for not fighting!!

OP, I hope things work out for you in the long run.  Just remember that the Eject button has to be pressed once, there's a slight pause as the canopy blows, and then freedom is obtained.  Make sure you get some good pie before you press the button though... surprise butt-sex might be in order as well.   And of course, SIIHPAPP.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

But so help me, I just hope I don't have an amateurism from all the stress in the short term.

Hope your nurse GF can help you be PROactive in preventing that.

My Wife died in my arms seven years ago. My Dad died in my arms last month. Both from the same problems your GF's Mother is experiencing.

You are a good man for taking this on. Have patience with the puppies, they will learn to behave.

Don't blame this on the dogs. All dogs arent like that and my dog has never thrown up in my bed like my cat has....

Seriously though, if your girlfriend is worth it (and only you can decide that), then do what you have to do in order to make things work between all of you.  Make sure the dogs have some chew toys as they're probably feeling neglected (hence the destruction of property).  I found with my boxer that a Kong with peanut butter that has been in the freezer for an hour or two will keep them busy for a while.  Make sure to let them play with it outside as it tends to make a mess.

Again, I hope things work out for you and I'm very sorry to hear about your GF's mother.  Remember that there's always a silver lining in every dark cloud.  Keep up the good fight, don't quit, and remember what is important to you!
Best of luck.
