I have a package sitting at the local facility, it was there in time to be on the truck today, but instead it is marked as: Package not due for delivery So basically this means that because it wasn't supposed to be delivered until Tuesday, it is going to sit in the sorting facility until it's been long enough for it to be delivered? If so, fuck you FEDEX, I'll go with UPS from here on out. |

If you really need it badly, just head down and pick it up I don't need it badly, I'm just surprised that they would sit on it for 4 delivery days. It isn't 'scheduled' to be delivered until Tuesday. If it's not scheduled for delivery but setting at your hub, they will not deliver it until the date scheduled. |

If you would have paid for overnight delivery you would have it by now. They are giving the service that they were paid to deliver. If you go second or third day delivery that is what you get. If all second or third day delivery was delivered overnight, why pay the premium for overnight delivery? Plus, depending upon how far the package has to go it can be shipped by ground for a lot lower cost than overnight which would require travel by air.

Man best I can tell IMO after looking at the tracking is that it didn't make the sort before the trucks left for the day.
The arrival scan to the facility that would have loaded it onto the truck is past the time it would have needed to be there (at least at my facility ) Yours was scanned at 7:42am that doesn't mean that it was sorted yet it had probably just showed up on the property in a Semi trailer The stuff that goes out for the day starts getting loaded at 3:30-4am and we leave at 7:30 am Anyway that's what I think it looks misleading since it got there at 7:42 but in reality that isn't early enough to make it on a truck. Btw I work on the Ground side which runs independent of express. Things run different so I am only telling you from my perspective and how things run where I am located. Hope this helps |
| UPS randomly decided that my office was closed on Fridays. It took the third time of me calling up to have packages delivered via courier to get them to change it in their system. I'm sure it will randomly pop up in their system again and I'll have to go through it again. |

It's because of their managerial statistics. If they deliver it 'early' it's delivered on the wrong day and that will count AGAINST their on-time delivery.
Pretty fuckered up, heh? Just deliver the package. Get it the hell out of the warehouse and into the customers hands! Oh no. Can't do that. Early deliver would screw up the drivers stat's and could result in a written counseling. If a manager were to overlook that, it would count against their own statistical performance and cause a higher level manager to get involved ...it's a 'Kafka-esque' nightmare drama every day! FedEx engineers are like the honey badger, they don't give a fuck. |

Truth is it's in a trailer parked out back. They didn't get to work through all of the trailers last night - no biggie they weren't guaranteed until tomorrow. If they happened to unload that trailer you woulda had you package and everyone wins.
That's how UPS does it anyway. |
