The F-15 Strike Eagles are very badass, but going with the F-16's as I have an Uncle who used to fly them.

Yeah, I'll probably get butt humped by some passer-by. Let's make this educational though.

Why?

Now that I'm looking more closely, is that not a Strike Eagle in the first pic above there? Camo and fuel tanks make me think so.

The aircraft pictured are not "Strike Eagles" they lack a 2nd seat (the second pics has a two seat config in the background but I would make  a WAG and say a "D"variant)

The would be "A" or "C" Eagles, (I don't know how to tell the Differences that's a AeroE or Mach question).

C's and D's are 1978 and later.

A's and B's 1977 and earlier.

Other than the tail numbers I don't think you can tell externally, unless the landing gear is down, the A&B models have 4-stack brakes vs. the 5 stack on the C&Ds.

ETA: Yeah, 57 AMU Viper Aggressors at Nellis can eat a fat dick...fuck that place.

Pretty much the best F-16 departure on youtube
Also viper pilot is a good read. I know the guy who wrote it. My dad flew with him.

The first F-15 in the second post is a D-model. B model variants didn't have the capability to carry the amraam, of which it's carrying two.

I few both of those tail numbers.

Those are A and B MISPs. They carry the AMRAAM.

Multi stage Improvement Program.

Basically C avionicss suits and external stores in an A model without the conformal tank ability.

Sorry, I miss typed. I should have said Viper. It's been a long four day weekend. I spent most of today out in the heat doing yard work.

I stand (err sit) corrected. I thought they would have phased them out by now.

Fighting Falcon is the official name, viper is the pilot name..

Kinda like phantom and Rhino, or thunderbolt and Jug

I washed both of the 524 FS flagships (wing king and squadron) for this photo shoot.  Hooray the life of a first term airman.  Just my luck that they were farthest from the camera.

The yellow tail is 90-0776 which crashed with her pilot in Iraq in 2006 (CFIT due to loss of SA during strafing pass).

They are all in the boneyard, that is an old picture from circa early 90's.

This or DCS World if you prefer other aircraft

Might poop myself from excitement when the F/A-18C comes out.
