Placed this here for increased traffic:
Is it legal to have a lower engraved with trust name before ATF approval? Basically, I'm going to be in the area of a place that does SBR engraving next weekend. My Form 1 is pending. Can I have the lower engraved with trust name next weekend or is that a modification and I have to wait until I get my stamp? |
| You can engrave anything you want on your own receiver, no need for ATF's approval or stamps back. I would actually suggest this, because in the rare instance that they engrave it wrong, you still have time to fix it and when your stamp comes in, you can go out and enjoy your new toy. |

I should clarify, I have a trust. It is required to engrave on the receiver after the stamp, so I just wanna get it done now instead of having to bring in an FFL to ship back and forth. |

Some suggest engraving before sending the forms in, so if the engraver messes up you can fix the form first. I usually send in the form the moment I have the S/N, and sent it to ident in parallel to waiting for BATFE. I am planning to use ident. Heard good things. |

That wait would've been killer if I already had my approved stamps. |
