Driven through a few up here, once behind a fuel tanker on the Dalton Highway to prudhoe bay. Got a little toasty but nothing spontaneously combusted. They cut a wide corridor of brush and trees on the side of the road so closest I got to flames was 25 feet.

Dumbass neighbor tried driving his tractor through the smoke of a huge grass fire a couple of years ago.
Contrary to popular belief, smoke will put out the fire in a diesel engine and leave you dead-in-the-water....
