I had wanted to see this movie and rented it tonite.
I was expecting some awesome "driving" scenes.. Its about the slowest movie Ive ever seen. Talk about alot of awkard acting and standing around saying nothing. |

Maybe you can file a lawsuit.

The character killed the Jewish guy on the beach.. In the back of my mind I thought of the holocaust in Latvia. In fact, i mentioned this to my wife. She thought it odd I realte to beach to that incident. |

Sounds like it might be good to watch if it's on HBO and need to fall asleep. |

I absolutely loved it it was excellently shot, and I thought Gosling did an excellent job at acting, especially when you consider his dialogue, or lack there of. I would recommend everyone see it, if for nothing more than forming your own opinion. |

I watched it tonight. I really liked it. I thought there was going to be a MTV crappy fast and furious gayness to it. That was not the case at all.
It may have been slow at some parts but I loved a character that's a quiet man capable of ultra violence with a hint of chivery and a code that he lives by. 8/10 |

I really liked Drive and I thought it felt like a modern day Taxi Driver... very brooding. I really liked how the director used light and shadow almost as characters themselves.
I think the problem most people have with this movie is that it was billed as an action piece when in reality is a deeply character driven drama. I chalk that up to Hollywood not knowing how to market it. Hell, many of the movies I like were badly marketed or marketed as something they weren't. |

I really liked the movie. |

Talk about alot of awkard acting and standing around saying nothing. I went to see it in the theater with the same expectations. I ended up being just as disappointed with it. I had the urge to walk out 20 minutes, but stayed hoping for a payoff that never came. It tied with Transformers 3 as the worst movie I saw in 2011. ETA- If they had marketed and titled it for what is was, I would not have been disappointed. However, I probably wouldn't have seen it either. |

I thought Drive was a VERY good movie. Very well done. Not what I expected either. Brutal, and takes no prisoners. 9/10

My favorite scene is the 12 gauge to the face. She can't act worth a damn.

I wasn't too impressed with the theater trailer and missed it when it first came out... Picked it up as a rental last night and bought it on blu-ray today... I really liked the style, the camera work and the overall feeling the movie gave off. To be honest, this type of movie is one of those "either you like the movie or you don't" and that's cool.
To me, it had the same or close to the same "To Live and Die in LA" and "Heat" vibe going on with it... Minus the kick-ass bank robbery scene in Heat, but has its share of kick-ass scenes. Since I love the late 70s and 80s, Drive caught my attention with some of the classic cars and the slow beat "Euro-Electro" type soundtrack, which fits the movie well. I can see why many people felt that this movie was somewhat slow, but that's the direction they wanted to take and to me, it worked!! The elevator and hammer scenes are pretty good too!! |
