Is there a printer that will stuff envelopes?

I don't need an industrial sized conveyer type machine though.

Just something for bills that can do about 500 per month. Under 5k would be nice. 10k is the upper limit.

It's not a printer that you want, it's a letter folder and stuffer.

Given the amount you are talking about, you'd be better off going to office max and having them do it for you.  If you are dead set on getting one, talk to the people at a place like office max or something and they can give you the names and how much they cost.

Have one in the workplace. it's a lease so I'm not sure what it costs to purchase outright.

Google up some paper folders and inserters.  A lot of small table top models run into the 10K range.

If you buy from a reputable company try to get a 30 day trial before you commit. With that much money being spent it shouldn't be a problem.

Are those paper folder and stuffer machines capable of printing also? Or do you have to print the envelopes and bills separately?

At 500 a month, I would agree with Hard_Rock and hire this job out.

Or housewives or students?

My sister stuffed envelopes for a couple of bucks when we were in middle school.

Folding/stuffing machines are high maintenance machines. We have a good one at the office that we use to stuff 7000 pieces of mail every quarter. Constant cleaning of the rollers and paper dust just to keep it running halfway right. Any office supply store will sell them.

Confidential info being stuffed.

As for the printing question.  Ours (and I'm guessing most) do not print.  Whatever you are printing, if it's variable pages per envelope, you would use a printing software to mark each first page with a code in the left margin. The folder/inserter scans that margin, and when it hits the new page, it seals the last envelope, readies a new one, and begins stuffing the new document.   If everything you will ever stuff is a single page document into an envelope there may be be less expensive, less complicated options than what I'm describing.

Separate workflows.

You can automate everything and have what comes off the printer get routed downstream for folding/stuffing/stamping, but I've only seen that kind of thing in really big production shops.

At 500 units a month, you are no where near being able to justify the kind of costs that would be involved with implementing a fully automated system.

I noticed your name in an earlier thread and just wanted to let you know that I'm aware of the reference and am about 1/3 of the way through the book.

I'm really enjoying it so far.

What part of TN? I'll be a letter folder and envelope stuffer.

For only 500 letters it won't be worth while. And you'd have to put each letter on it that is different. Its only really useful for a mass mailing, with all the same content, just different addresses.

Here is a link that might help you..... They can do anything you want. I work on these machines day in and day out and know more than enough about them.
