that the dems will be able to mount an effective campaign in 2006 or 2008?

It would seem that the dems have poured their all into this election cycle and they were handed a heavy blow. It wouldn't surprise me if they have a difficult time getting support the next time around. Especially from the younger voters who were new to the political scene. There first time out, and all their worked was for not. I'm thinking that the dems will lose even more seats in congress the next time around.

I wouldn't be surprised if George Allen from VA becomes the Republican nominee.

Me either.

I used to know him before he rose to political glory.

The "Mass Media" will continue pimping them as hard as they can, but the new media keeps growing stronger. The "Mass Media"'s bias will become increasingly evident as they become more and more desperate. IMHO, the big race is Hillary for Prez in '08. If we can beat her, the Democratic Party and their media machine is through.

Maybe this is a sign that this country isn't totally lost yet.

I recall back when Regan won both times, and then when George Bush Sr. won, most people didnt think that the Democratic Party could mount an effective campaign again and basically were "done"...........then Clinton gets elected 2 times...........expect a power struggle within the party between the Moderates/Conservatives and the Liberal elements for control of the party......I dont think anyone should count them out completely..........

People have experimented with leftist ideology and found it leaves a bad aftertaste. Look for a more right leaning citizenship for quit some time. It will go in cycles.

I agree that these things go in cycles, but I think 9/11 has played a major role in changing the way a lot of the middle of the road voters think about things.
