My second attempt, first one was a couple years ago it was a kill & grill.
Had nothing better to do this evening so I figured I try another one. This one may not go as well. 
I’m fairly new at using a smoker, it's been a little over a year now. Have made some meat that turned out great (imho) & have screwed some up. Here goes. Steak: Got the it up to 115°ish then set it on a hot cast iron skillet (used the Alton Brown way to get the pan hot) for a minute per side. Bacon wrapped scallops: Completely random, was looking at recipes on-line, saw it and figured to give it a try. They were decent, if I were to do it again I probably would use more spice & no bacon. 
I like steak rare, this came out a little over done. At least it was tender & juicy.

What's with the calipers?
Not sure about the Peeps (actually, I am--I hate Peeps, so minus 1 point). I like the redneck surf and turf thing going on. I need some type of side dish though, so another point off. Looks tasty overall, and thumbs up for the Yuengling (Trump supporter beer). 8.0/10 |
