And the person holding it in their inventory said fuck it and straight logged out with it. Was a lot of drama but basically I got screwed out of what was at the time an insanely rare drop

Killed three placeholders and fell asleep in my chair. I woke up to the sound of someone jumping up and down in front of my warrior. Stormfeather had spawned and he was asking if that was who I was waiting for. I jumped up and killed it quickly. Seems Stormfeather had been killing the lower level folks for twenty minutes before they noticed me sitting under a pine tree. Got my Eyepatch of Plunder finally! |

Let alone you really needed a solid core group or guild to farm stuff cause most bosses only dropped one really farmed item for one class. So had to take turns farming bosses for each other. But for every shitter loot thief, there’s a story like SVTs, where someone isn’t a shitter and does the right thing. For the most part, best community I’d seen in a MMO. | for anyone looking to scratch this itch i just found out about and started playing an emu called the heroes' journey which is sort of a hybrid eq/progression where you can combine 3 classes into one character, with some other quality of life stuff. it's FREE and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm currently playing a pal/monk/nec but there are 560 combinations to try out. easy to play solo, fast leveling. only downside is Daybreak games is suing them so not sure where that will go but lawsuits take years typically and most of the time are resolved in some manner. |

Yeas ago I found privately operated UO servers There was one game where you'd start off and there were two castles on each side. You could walk through portals to get "Grand Master" of any skill and there were chests that would generate the best gear. Then it was essentially PVP with each side having a castle to take over |

It has a lot of EQ vibes to it and is quite fun and not stressful at all. Unless you are in Old Kirkengard dungeon and trying to break the spawn into Overseer Orlok's room. We died many a time trying to get into that room. I could CC maybe one of his guards, but the named and his other guard would beat down the tank before I could get the other guard CC'd. |

| Some of this stuff brings back memories. Played entirely PVP and mostly as an enchanter since beta. I eventually quit after a few years because PVP got so badly nerfed and enchanters could barely solo but were essential to dungeon raids so I could not just get on and play and when things finally got organized no one wanted you to leave because that usually meant the raid was over. One good thing about enchanters in PVP was you could enchant someone and send them after their friends as a pet. Lots of confused people with that one. |

Bertoxxulous Server April 12, 1999 - January 4th 2007 Paladin - Epic 1.0 Necro - Epic 2.0 Druid - Epic 1.0 P99 2019 - Current Cleric Epic 1.0 So many memories. Lots of friends made. My wife and I hosted 2 guild parties at our house over the years. People flew in from all over the country for steaks and beer and geeking out. The Ghoulbane camp for my Paladin was a 6pm Friday till after sunrise Saturday affair, we outfitted 4 Paladins that night with Ghoulbane. |

I'm waiting for a new Guild Wars or something similar. I don't want to get into POE, or a WoW reboot, and I can't imagine trying to play EQ1 I played the new Diablo and it turned into just constant fetch quests and repetitive grinding. . . . waiting for the latest and greatest to come out |

Erenshor now has raids. I've yet to figure out how to get enough folks for the raid but it looks and sounds fun. In the mean time I began playing Everquest Legends. Pick three classes and play the game. Running a Monk/Necro/Shammy right now on the Oggok server. Just dinged 42 this weekend. One thing I will say is that when you pick your three classes, make sure to have at least one plate class in your trio. My guy is just way too squishy to play recklessly. My friend has a Cleric/SK/Enchanter and just pulls everything and face tanks it all. |

Yes you can now solo level appropriate zones. People even solo PoF, PoH and the dragons. I't s like 3 boxing but much easier because it's one toon. It's also a little bit weaker than true 3 boxing because when I'm doing shammy things the monk/nec are not doing anything. If that makes sense. The monk side of me stops meleeing to cast a shammy or necro spell. Basically everyone is now a hybrid melee/caster class. Enchanter charm pets are top dog with mage pets right behind them and beastmaster pets are garbage right now and being looked at. |
