It's usually not the dentist that hurts, but the hygenist. I had this one hygenist, nice as she could be, but would butcher my mouth. I would bleed so bad during a cleaning that it looked like I flossed with piano wire. She was a football coaches wife, that may have had something to do with it.

I've had mixed results with these guys.

One oral surgeon told me to avoid another doctor in his practice.  That turned out to be good advice.  Shame I couldn't have gotten it prior to the butchering.<G>

Sorry to hear of your trouble guys.

My hygenist is great. SHE is the only one that cleans my teeth. The office has several girls that clean but I request (demand) that I see her only. Funny thing is I found her and the office she works for via an advertisement mailer I received in the mail several years ago. It also helps that the office is less than one mile from my house.

I go in every three months for cleaning instead of every six months like most people. I have some gum and bone problems from failure to take care of my teeth years ago and bone problems from a combination of gingivitis and from wisdom teeth removal (all wisdom teeth no longer).

My hygenist is very patient and understanding about pain and sensitivity during cleaning and she has found a system that woks pretty damn well. I still have some slight discomfort when she is cleaning in certain areas but I can deal with the discomfort much better now.

Prior to my first visit I had severely bleeding gums from brushing. Since finding this office and this hygenist  she has seen to it that those problems have been aggresively addressed and now my gums no longer bleed.

Once again guys I'm sorry to hear your problems but I definitely have a keeper that helps me take care of my teeth.

Oh, and yes she is a cutie
