I hate to break the news to you, but as long as there have been militaries there have been gays in them.
If you look at many of the arguments against gays in the military, they are the same arguments that were used against women and blacks. I don't understand why a person would want to exclude people who can and want to fight for their country. |

Yes, I was a rifleman in the USMC.
I served with some people that were rather clearly gay. It did not effect their professionalism, or their ability to do their job. I don't care what religion, gender, color, race, creed, sexual preference the person fighting next to me is, as long as they can do their job. Let them do what ever the hell they like in their own private time as long as it doesn't affect their job performance. |

I and many others that have also served have not had your reaction or experience when dealing with known homosexuals in the military. |
