Eta: it's race day (maybe). Guess I'll change this thread into the official race thread. Started out as a question thread for NASCAR first timers.
Managed to grab Terrace Club seats with pit pass for Sunday's race. This will be my first NASCAR race! 
I figured I would post here instead of PA-HT since a lot of people that go are not from PA. FanVision and Scanner rentals... worth it? WTF is FanVision? |

Definitely leave early. I live about 15-20 min from the track and traffic is all kinds of fucked up on race weekend. If the weather holds out, I'm probably going to have dinner in the parking lot and hang out there for a couple hours after the race. No work Monday! |

The wifes step dad was a manager at GM and got us comp tickets with food badge and pit pass. We walked around and found what we thought was our food tent. We walked in and there were tables with table cloths, steaks being grilled, pick/peel shrimp, cheese trays, chicken quarters....everything. We were like yeah baby. Then someone asked to see our pass and we were missing a letter designation (Who knew) and they kicked us out, politely and pointed out our tent. Dirty water dogs, hamburgers in water, sausage and peppers, fries, tater salad.  Go early, leave early. The pits were great.......Except when someone unexpectedly started a car when you were standing behind it.  Take a book, the lead pack only goes by once every hour or so.  Watching shit on fire in the pits was interesting.It was a fun day, but overall I would not pay to do this again. |
