Ok, I can 1RM 315 on the flat bench.

Last night I was doing decline and incline bench.  I got a PR for my decline at 295 x 2.  I reset and only did 1 more rep.  My form felt weird, so I didn't go any further than that.

My question is, Is the decline suppose to be that close (or equal) to the flat bench?

Should be more than the flat bench.

EDIT

Probably what happened is that after the flat bench, you pretty much shot your wad so to speak with your chest and shoulder muscles.  Bottom line you were probably fatigued.

Do weighted dips instead.

I usually decline more weight than flat bench. And I usually do decline after flat bench. The few times that I had started with decline before flat bench, because someone was using the flat bench, I did a lot more than I normally do on decline. If that makes any sense.

Edit: for spelling.

Decline will be higher because its a shorter ROM.

IMO decline is useless.
