Other than “don’t” is there any advice that you would offer? How do you deal with the baby daddy? Am I making a mistake? |
|
It might work if the baby daddy is so far away gone that he's not part of daily life. Otherwise, it's like the two are still married in every way except sex and shared housing, just because the kid forces them to still have to interact and be in each other's face all the time. It's even worse if there's child support that's not being paid and you get to watch the legal spectacle too. I say run. |
I probably wouldn't... ![]() Need more info... How old is kid? What is the relationship with the dad? Is the dad crazy and can he kick your ass? How hot is the mom? Does the mom coddle the kid? Will she be asking you to support the kid but then demand you not say anything to the kid? Is the kid an asshole? What makes the mother worth it? Are you trying to wine and dine the mother or just get some pussy? |
|
#1 Don't meet the kid unless you absolutely wind up getting serious, its never fair to the kid. #2 You will always be #3, even #4 when Baby Daddy has visitation rights. #3 It can be done, my older brother raised two step daughters that are not perfect but could be worse off. |

1) asking relationship advice on GD... 2) define "dating" Think those to pretty much sum up the answers you will get. So, will add - life is to short to stick it into crazy. That said, if this is just physical, ok at least she has predefined date nights. If this is "relationship" the vast majority of the time you will pretty far down her list of priorities. In a perfect world, God, Family, Country. Just understand you are not family. |

Ended up marrying my wife, who has a kid from a previous disaster. I have a HORRIBLE relationship with my step-kid. The kid has serious issues and the wife blames me for everything. (Not the asshole who she ran off when she was still pregnant). Had I known, I would have laughed in her face on the first date and skipped all the way home giggling. BUT, we had a child together and I want very much to be in her life. So I'm kinda fucked. If you and the other kid REALLY hit it off and he/she accepts you, then it can be great. If you end up like me.... |

Mom is smoking hot, almost out of my league. Kid is 3 and pretty chill. Dad is a fucking asshole but white collar and not trashy. He’s local and they stay in close contact. To clarify we’ve been seeing each other and going out for about 6 months. She doesn’t need me for money as she works a good job but she has already told me she loves me. |

My ex wife really hasn't dated since our divorce. Her and I get along pretty well and things go smoothly for the most part. My motto is "Go along, and we'll get along". We arent out to get one another. She has a good career and a nice home and has a lot to offer. My seven year old is good in school, behaves, is polite, athletic and has never once thrown a tantrum. It all depends on how the kid acts and what the relationship is like between the two parents. If parents could actually work together instead of trying to cause drama, it would be easier on everyone. Especially someone new coming in to the picture. |

Quoted: Other than “don’t” is there any advice that you would offer? I don't have any other advice and neither does anyone else who isn't either a dumb cuck or a troll trying to set you up to fail for lolz. How do you deal with the baby daddy? Don't, unless you like getting bullied. Am I making a mistake? Yes. |

If the kid's father is around, there will likely be drama. Furthermore, you will always be a lower priority than the kid. That may not be an issue for some dudes, but it was a dealbreaker for me when I was dating. My advice is to stay away from anyone with baggage from prior relationships - kids included. There are always exceptions, but it's not worth the risk, IMO. I do feel bad for guys looking for women in their 30s and 40s. Loads of single moms and damaged goods out there. Best of luck either way. |

Quoted: been there done that. the baby daddy will always be on the fringes. you will always be second to the kids. beat it up but do not pursue relationship. HELL YEAH BROTHER even if you're just beating it up, baby daddy drama isn't impossible aka time to consider ejecting

| I did, and ended up marrying this woman. The main issue for me was that the bio dad was non existent, very important that I didn’t have to deal with any turmoil from him regarding the child. So I raised this kid as my own. Great kid that accepted me As his father, and he turned out great. Had two other kids with her, they are great kids, all boys and love each other like nothing else. Very proud of that. |

I did. Baby Daddy was a deadbeat who was doing his best to avoid child support. Baby Momma let him skate rather than have him as an influence on the baby's life. We got married over 30 years ago, I adopted the 2 year old girl, and am the only father that she has ever known. It can work out sometimes. |

Very proud of that. Same but with a daughter. Her bio dad was not in the picture and he died when she was 15. She is now 31, and the mother of my only grandson. I have raised her since 1992. She was three. Sometimes God works these things out with a reshuffle of the deck. |
| Dude, if you don't run, you deserve all the misery you can't even imagine. She made her choices and now you will pay for them. Don't be surprised if she says, "Surprise, you're going to be a daddy. I wants more money for life. By the way you're moving out by Friday because Bill is next in line." |
