So, there's at least three channels by the same dude. Dark5 Dark5 Ancient Mysteries Dark Space The first two have the same format, that is a roughly 20-minute video that talks about 5 closely related things (basically the same topic, like OOP artifacts, monolithic construction, JFK's assassination, what have you). For the people here, you probably already know at least a few of the things he talks about , but he does go into some good history of whatever it is, might or might not do so soft debunking, and just generally imparts a bunch of info in a short time. I'm sure the general public (who aren't kooks like us) probably knows about or has heard of 0 out of 5 most times, whereas we might know none, some, or all of the things being discussed. I still learn details and specifics about each one though, even if I've heard of it or seen info on it before. The third channel, Dark Space, is mostly short-form 10-ish minute vids (some of the newer ones are longer) about mysterious or little-known stories of the Space Race and exploration from the beginning to today. Also interesting, and a bit more of a deep dive into one topic. Anyway, here are a few of the vids. I have been watching these channels for years. Especially the original. He used to source all the footage and pics to make the videos pretty damn great. Now he is using alot of Ai for stuff and many topics are kinda recycled stuff. Overall I enjoy them and regularly listen to the audio at work. I remember several years ago there was a discussion about people claiming he wasnt real because his voice is odd and it was all computer generated speech. Years before the deep fake stuff. I toggled the archive status of this thread and made it the "Official" Dark 5 Thread so if you find something cool or new and different from the channels in the OP, please post them in this thread! Thanks @Kagetora and @TrailerTrash556 for mentioning them, I'd never heard of it or seen it (though I never look at videos it pushes at me, so it's like complaining the rooms dark when I didn't hit the light switch...) |
