I'm getting ready to make some DVD's using Sony's Vegas software and can choose the format to create them in.

What format should I use that will work with most DVD players?

NTSC

Don't use PAL

Is that what you're asking?

When I render a movie in Vegas Movie Studio, what format should I render it in so that it is compatible with DVD Architect without having to compress it or modify it in any way?

If you’re creating a DVD, render to MPEG-2 for the video. For a Blu-ray disc, render the video as MPEG-2 or AVC (H.264). In both cases, render the audio to AC3.

Need more info.

HD/SD, 4:3/16:9

If you want them to play on virtually all DVD players then choose standard definition 4:3 aspect ratio, but they probably will look terrible on new high-def tv's.

UTF format is what I use, just because it plays if more of my hardware DVD players.
