Hi I am wanting to start carrying while cycling and wonder what gun and holster combo everyone recommends.
Thanks |

You shave your legs ,wear that skin-suit shit, and have a helmet that looks like someone band-stretched your skull? That kind of cycling? ![]() I ride on a road bike and I wear a helmet. Usually with under armor loose t-shirt and exercise pants. I don't shave my legs because I'm no where near competitive |

I've just stuck a LCP 380 into the middle pocket of my jersey but it makes it sag down pretty good. No holster, but nothing else is in that pocket. I suppose you could get one of those belly band holsters but have never used one of those before. I use the wallet style holster with LCP 380 in back center pocket. |

Just throw my normal CCW in the Camelback. I leave the chamber empty because I'm paranoid about something happening if (when ) I crash.

I have interest in this subject.
Currently, as a temporary solution until I figure something out, I carry a g19 in a fanny pack with a holster sewed inside. I would like something lighter/smaller that could fit in a jersey pocket, but worry about the sagging issue already mentioned. |

Hi I am wanting to start carrying while cycling and wonder what gun and holster combo everyone recommends. Thanks For a road bike i have a frame bag that attaches to the top tube and the stem (sort of a long triangle) just big enough for a glock 30. It has a lengthwise zipper with a long pull lanyard so its easy enough to reach down grab the lanyard pull it back and then reach down grab the grip and draw .. mt biking i have pepper spray with a pcket clip attached to the handlebar so i can just grab it and slide it sideways to unclip, as mt biking i am more concerned with bears and shit like that than rednecks with their get off the road shit... ETA I also have one of those plastic trigger guard things that you push out sideways with your trigger finger that acts as a safety, so I dont feel so bad about carrying with one in the tube with only the bag as a holster. Racking the slide one handed isnt going to happen while operating a bicycle. |

I use it specifically for riding the trails. I've had mine for awhile, but I only paid $35 for it so I'd look around for a deal. Other than that I've never found anything that works except maybe a fanny pack which I won't wear. |

Quoted: He wasn't talking about you. I wear MTB shorts and a loose shirt with my Glock 27 in a Remora holster. Hip carry? I got made by my mountain bike friends in about 30 minutes carrying that way. Then my other hip bounced off a tree and a mag fell on the ground. |
| I use a PT-2 linkie. It's not the cheapest but I can carry a G19 and my ID with little bounce on 3-5 mile runs. I used to have it up front but switched to carry @ the small of my back. |

For long distance, I wear a belt that goes around my waist, holds two extra water bottles, and has a pouch in between them, which is where I keep my pistol. It's something like this: http://i.imgur.com/AE9R9VN.jpg It's not optimal for quick draw, but I don't want something digging into my side on a 5 hour ride. I also keep a smallish pepper spray canister mounted on the outside, which I can get to very quickly....and which is all I have when I bike in the Peoples Republic of MD. If the C&O wasn't such a great trail, I would never cross the damn Potomac. You wear that? |
|
I use a Hill People Gear Runner's Kit Bag.
This leaves jersey pockets open for more water and food. |

I have been wearing the same one for a dozen years and it helps keep me hydrated. I have a bottle on the bike as well and will usually go through all 3 twice on a long ride. The pouch also has a small first aid kit, which I have used more than once, my cell phone, a spare tube, and a couple of other things. I keep a tool kit under my seat. I bike in the woods where there is no help and the walk out could take all day. I rely on myself out there. |

LC9 IWB w/jean shorts works really well for Summer road cycling. Same, but regular jeans for Winter or mountainbiking.
Occasionally I'll do an LC9 in a PistolWear under the shirt (when I'm wearing clothes that can't handle IWB), but it prints some at speed/in the wind. Never been called out on it though. Rides about the same place as people with those insulin pumps, maybe they think I've got a gun shaped insulin pump under my shirt? :-) |

I don't normally cycle when i carry. But when I cycled I would usually carry.
Mountain biking > road cycling. ![]() Not to mention, road cycling is a helluva lot more dangerous. But what do I know? I've been off my fat tires for almost a month now with a torn bicep sustained when the front tire of my fat-bike washed-out in the powder and threw me violently to the ground. I just hiked past that same spot where it happened this past Monday (because I can't ride right now) and cursed that damned spot for smiting me!

Hi I am wanting to start carrying while cycling and wonder what gun and holster combo everyone recommends. Thanks No flack from me. I am a leg shaving, roadie and have been for 25 years. I carry. P32 in a wallet holster. A mouse gun is better than no gun. Ya gotta save weight too. |
| I used to carry mine in the saddle bag on the back of the bike. That is until I wrecked one day and left my shield laying on the side of the road because I was in such a hurry.to recover to make sure nobody saw it happen. Now I've got some bike shorts with a cargo pocket and a cheap pocket holster. |

I use to have a small Road Runner Sports neoprene jogging waist pack that just fit a J-frame and one speed strip.
It was pretty comfortable and didn't bounce around. It finally wore out, is discontinued and I haven't found an equivalent replacement. Lately been just carrying Fox Labs pepper spray and a small folder in a top tube/frame pack. I do worry about taking a spill and falling hard on the gun, causing additional injury. |
) I crash.
