Crap, Got pulled over...
I was out looking around at houses for sale in an unfamiliar neighborhood and stopped over the crosswalk area right in front of a police cruiser. The police officer coming through the intersection from my right didn't like my driving style and whipped a shitty and pulled me over. I figured if he was gonna get out of his comfy cruiser in the pouring rain, I would surely get a ticket.
I got a stern reprimand for stopping over the line and he ran my info, came back to the car and let me go with a verbal warning. No dog were shot, not car impound no cavities searched. The whole event lasted a grand total of 2-3  minutes.....
The rain soaked officer climbed back in his cruiser and let me go about my business.

Anyway, pretty sure we don't have "Duty to inform" here in PA ....oh well

Ummm.....He identified someone who is not from the neighborhood and whom he probably didn't recognize.

I call that a good beat cop. If a burglary came in 4 hours later that's a good contact.

Chickenshit would have been actually writing the ticket. But only on Afrcom do we complain when we commit a violation and get let go with a warning.

+1 on good patrol work.

Never know could have been a BOLO out on a vehicle of similar description. Plenty of bolos pop up on the MDU that have very basic info. He found a reason to make contact with you.

By the way, that's how police find the bad guys....get out of the car and contact the public. Sounds like you were not in need of being cited- you were a good guy

I'm sure that if the "prick" had just stopped a vehicle that had a lot of your personal belongings in the back seat, you would still think he's a prick?
