Well, it did it. Corn hit $10 for a 50lb bag today for us. My family owns a feed store in central Texas. 2 years ago, it was less than half that. F*ck ethanol. That is all. |
| oil is the driving factor in the cost of corn. buy your corn from a producer not from the feed store or local grain elevator . fertilizer prices are through the roof as well as fuel cost, chemical cost, cash rent. 2years ago nh3 cost 300 a ton now it cost 1,000 a ton seed cost were a 100 a bag of 80,000 kernals now it is 200+ fuel has well you all know what fuel hass done. Even so there is maybe 10 cents of corn in a box of corn flakes. So lets get the facts straight. Dont believe all the bull shit from california( pimital) Cause after the alchol is extracted from the corn it is then fed to cattle and hogs and Poultry for protien. alcohol is still the best for the buck and energy independence. all diesel's will run on vegetable oils and we can make grease from veggies also cars will run on alcohol just fine look to the indy cars if you dont believe me. these junk cars of today dont work well because they dont have high compression engines. to make alcohol work well you need 10.5 to 11 to 1 compression levels to extract all of the energy of it. todays cars are running maybe 5 to 6 to 1 compression levels look at the size of the starters on a vehicle from the muscle cars of the 60's and early 70's then look at the size of the starter of todays cars. sorry for the rant. |
I drive an Acra rsx with an obscenely high compression ratio. I run premium only. They do not market ethanol but in 87 octane (*at least here). Therefore, it is not a good solution. Especially when cattle cost so much to feed. End of story |
