I'm hurt. My property just got taken over, agasint my will, in June of this year.. (No, I'm not a troll, f'ing go back and check) I'm glad GW won....I hated Kerry, and, am glad he lost...... Now, tell me why I should be happy about the way things are going in this country. Tell me why... (Other than the obvious) Why I should vote Repub. this next time? I'll vote that way........probably anyway...'Cause I don't have a choice.....2nd and that....And fundamental differences... Why should I be happy about it? I'm so, tired of all this comprimise and selling out of us. I'm angry. I'm drinking, and, I'm upset. I'm sure it will all be better in the morning, but, I'm going to pose the question. Why should I vote republican this next time? (Exclude 2nd ammend..Immigration..Hell most of our issues) |
War on Terror Gun Control Taxes Military etc etc etc. |
|
A better question might be, why shouldn't you. I guess in a nutshell its which theory do you think will work best for society. IMHO the true conservative way is one in which strong individuals who are governed by higher powers than a central government will work to be independent, yet compassionate towards those with less. With that said, the liberal agenda is in which Government is all knowing of what is best for all and that the rich should by virtue of being rich take care of the poor. Patty |

The most important part os Bush's presidency is his SCOTUS nomination. I wont vote democrat just based on their shity 2a rating... but republicans seem to be the same shit at a slower rate. Its a shame that you need to have a rich and well known family to run these days. How many great presidents are sitting out their in America but are otherwise overlooked because they dont have the resources and recognition to run? The citizens are partly to blame as well... we could tackle real issues with a real middle class American at the helm of our country but our citezenry would ignore such a man and our media would cut him down as an uneducated dreamer. It's a pitch black situation. |
|
Bush has always been the same Bush. He said he would nominate a conservative for SCOTUS- he did He said we would finish the job in Iraq- we are He has never been strong on the border- he still isn't And he will sign S397 |
Man, don't get me back started......Invol annexation.....Property tax 2X.....If I no discharge my firearms to defend my goats or chickens I'm a criminal.... The hits just keep on coming. |
Huge cuts to the .mil? Most libertarians I know are in favor of INCREASING spending for the .mil,. The poster of the thread is right though, we're getting screwed big time by everyone. The Dems want your guns and money, the Repubs want the rest. -Storm |
hmm CAFTA, borders, dropping 90 billion on "aid" for Africa, shall I go on? |
|
Well, for one thing the Kelo case in the US Supreme Court was decided by LIBERAL apointees (and David Souter) with only Rehnquist, Thomas, Scalia and O'Conner dissenting. This means we need to purge the Court of Ginsburg, Kennedy, SOUTER, Stevens and Breyer ASAFP and replace them with likes of Thomas, Scalia and Rehnquist. Since a supermajority of these are Catholic and the current nominee is too Catholic, I think the CURRENT President is on the RIGHT track. Sure, it is faulty "cause and effect" to claim that a Catholic should ba appointed (shudder to think Ted"Chapaquiddick" Kennedy as he claims to be Catholic). But the assertion that we should keep on track is proven. That is why you need to vote conservative. Please elaborate on why your property was taken. |
CAFTA- Its a free market... AKA capitalism. Business will go for the most profit. Borders- Yeah, but Bush has always been a little weak on the border--so no real change here Aid in Africa- One of the things i disagree with Bush on, hes certainly not perfect. |
Tell me about these Gov't health clubs and etc. Patty |
You think Bush or Republicans had anything to do with that? It was the leftists in the court that ruled for that. |
I was talking about the Libertarian platform, not your libertarian buddies. What else do the repubs want? They want to cut taxes They are against gun control They like to kill terrorists... I can go on |
Good excuse. Where is the executive intercession? Where is the congressional/senatorial outrage? Nowhere. There are a few that are finding this issue as a bedrock that are going to come up and, I tell you now, they are getting my vote. |
+1. Why are you blaming Republicans today for the crappy Kelo ruling? It was the court liberals who shredded your property rights. Vote GOP, keep the liberals from appointing any more activist judges. |
Those sound like state or local issues. What has any of it to do with Bush? |
My property was taken under involuntary annex. Citizens ALREADY have no rights, if you didn't know....Now we have LESS. My property taxes doubled, and, all I got to show for it was substandard PD protectin and a vote on politics, (Which is already decided) (I posted this lots earlier) Like I said...I need some compelling reason, other than the normal... That said, I'll vote GOP again...And it will be the same old crap...... I just wish ONE damn time somone would run and just say..."The f'ing constitution IS F'ing NOT negotiable!" |
I think you need to read their platform, that is not what is says. |
And how is that Bush's fault? |
It doesn't have anything to do with Bush, and, you are totally not understanding this..... I'm fuckin' mad. I'm really mad and, I'm being unreasonable. Yes, MY issue is a state/local issue.....Maybe if you live in the city, you are used to paying property tax, or if you are in the country so far, you are not...I think you are either used to being taxed, or not...to be so cavalier about it. |
Executive intercession??????????? WTF is that. It ain't how it works. The President cannot veto or override the Supreme Court. |
So, who runs your county government, Dems or Repubs? It ain't about being cavalier, it's about you whining about Bush over stuff that he has nothing to do with. I happen to live in the country, but that ain't what this is about. |
Alright I'll add onto this list, where I've been sold out: Not one damned thing has been done about this border. Government handouts haven't decreased. Bush's Guest Worker Program? WTF?!?! Social Security is still here. I don't see a repeal of the 86 FOPA or 68 GCA, or even trying to repeal either one. Alberto Gonzalez. Now most of the beef is at the nationa level. The state Repubs seem to be doing there job - minus the school tax issue which is a load of shit to begin with. |
I feel you...Man, I know.....But we totally jacked up our priorities, and, THAT is GW's fault. It's my feeling, and, I'm not trying to start issues....Afgan....Yeah...Noone could really say anything...Iraq? Right? Yes, I think so.... The right thing to do? No, I don't. |
So, actually, Bush has nothing to do with what you were bitching about, you just wanted to bash him. "jacked up our priorities".............WTF are you talking about? |
Ok, Maybe I am whining. Big words from you that hasn't had your property gobbled. Big, big words. I'm just asking. Look back. I'm going to vote Rep.....I have no choice. I'm just really upset right now. And, you are being more cavalier than if somone was jamming their hand down YOUR pocket ,and, taking your money by force. |
It ain't about being cavalier, it's about where you are placing the blame. What part of that don't you understand? |
I take our leader as to be responsible. I was held as responsible as a leader, and, I do the same to our politicos. It's funny about the "Bashing" you claim.......I'm not...I'm VERY frustrated over immigration, and private property rights......If this minutes worth of dissent is"Bush Bashing"....Ok.... You don't know me or a damn thing about me. I DO know, if Bush wanted to, he could do somthing about all of this, but, he WON'T. |
You quoted the post with all the pictures and then spouted something about "jacked up our prirorities". You wanna answer what that was about or just keep making no sense? You don't know nearly as much as you seem to think. When were you the leader of the free world? |
Both corrupt, dirty ass parties run our .gov. There is NOT one damn IOTA of difference between them. I guess you live in a land where the parties have a difference...That's lovely. I don't, and, I'm pissed. Everyone's tryng to say how I'm whining about this or that, and, hell maybe I am. I accept that....It's hilarious, though, how I'm getting accused of saying crap I'm not. My question was simple. Refer back to that. A few people actually answered my question rather than attack me. |
Lol...Yeah...I feel you. Thanks for probably the most succinct answer tonight. |
I haven't attacked you unless you consider pointing out that you are putting the blame in the wrong place is attacking you. If you think that is an attack, you have led a sheltered life. You haven't even answered whether you county commission is Dem or Repub. Your question (why should you vote Repub) is meaningless unless you answer that. Everything you originally complained about were local issues. This 'they are the same' bullshit is just that..........bullshit. You think the Dems would have let the AWB sunset? You think Gore would have really done anything about Sept 11? |
Ok cowboy, I know I hurt your feelings, 'casue you are taking this all personal. I didn't say I knew anything more than anyone else. When did I say I was all knowing? All I said was, as I recall, that I'm being totally unreasonable in many ways, angry, and, frustrated. However....I think my priorities would be first and, foremost to the constitution of this nation, IF I was the leader of the free world. But, I'm not, and, so, exactly the smae thing gets done. Nada. "Jacked up priorities" Include not paying attention to THIS country and making big misteps abroad. I hadn't intended to make this a discussion about specific issues, and, I won't. I feel GW sold us out to -Mexicans -Saudis -Fuckin' lets just go sign CAFTA! It will work out as good as the rest of the free trade agreements that suck all out manufacturing base out..... Again....I voted GW, and, I am with my vote...I'll vote GOP next year, right like I have all the time. I just wanted to get some renforcement. What I got was a hammering. THanks. |
Negative, most who supported it were Republican appointees. |
It ain't. But one justice who voted for it was a Bush Sr. appointee. And most regrettably one was a Reagan appointee. |
See, you take my argument, which IS my life and, just toss it out... "Oh your real life doesn't really matter....My opinion is right" If you think that dems or reps have a difference on emminent domain, come on down. I'll give you the cut out of my local paper and, their STATED views. I've been in town meetings with these people....I doubt you have so, you basically have no idea what you are talking about. I see what you are saying.... Good points on the AWB...I knew that, and, already pointed that out...(you probably didn't read that...(What, with all my Bush bashing) I'm DAMN glad Gore wasn't in office on 911. I didn't bring that up...Good point and, that DOES help, belive it or not. |
I wish I could just blame it all on the libs.....But I can't. |
what are these higher-powers? there seemed to be an overtone in this thread that conservatives must be religious folk, i guess i don't understand that... on another note, i was raised in a very conservative, very republican household. for the most part, i generally agreed with my parents. then, a few years ago, our opinions went horribly astray. for the most part, i'm still very conservative on a lot of issues. it took me a long time to figure out what exactly this great disparity was between my stoutly republican parents and myself. and then, it dawned on me. they were 100% completely happy with invasions of their privacy in crime prevention (or terrorism) simply because "they aren't doing anything wrong". i guess i'm mostly libertarian. can't really agree with republicans, so happy to dispense of individual rights and the insatiable need to stomp religion down someone's throat. can't agree with the democrats, because they want my guns, my capitalism and my independence. so many are so happy to trample on their own freedoms for 'causes' such as the war on terror and the war on drugs, either with blatant disregard or giving into the ruse of "we'll get them back when the crisis is over". |
