You guys probably don't give a shit but whew.....built this rig 2 months ago and dumped a lot of coin into it only to have it shit the bed today. It was running with no problems and all of a sudden "POP"...heard the noise and the thing shut down. No power.
Cracked open the case and saw nothing obvious nor did I smell anything afoul. Suspected the power supply so.....went to Best Buy, picked up a new P/S and swapped it out. BINGO, rig is up and running again !!  WHEW !!...wasn't in the mood to troubleshoot something else. While there, I picked up a battery back up just because.

....just wanted to share my story.

What was the brand of the PSU that died?  I recently had an FSP unit die on me, replaced that with an Antec that died in 2 weeks, and am now running a PC Power & Cooling  Silencer 750.

Seems like PSUs have become hit or miss lately.

ETA what do you use the SSD for?

Looks like he has 1 blue LED fans and 2 blue LED strips, I've seen worse.  I've got 2 LED case fans, I can look in through an air intake and view the internals with the light they put off.  Easy way to check for a busted fan without opening the case.

ETA nice cable management.

The PSU that shit the bed was a Corsair 750TX 750W PSU.
I use the SSD for the O/S. Boots up like lightning.

I'm 42 yrs old....thnx for the compliment.
Purchased the case based on price and customer feedback. The neon fan came with it but, since it's stuffed under my desk in a compartment, you never see the lights.

I had my power supply a Cooler Master 650 watt power supply's fan stopped working on my present computer. The computer kept running but acted funny luckly the five case fans kept the power supply cool enough for me to discover the problem and shut down with out any problems. The next day I purchased a Antec 1000 watt supply.
