Sounds like a problem with your computer.

Run an adware scan before complaining about ads the rest of us aren't seeing.

You mean ads or is there a math problem on the page?

That's your computer, not ar15.com

It's called spyware/adware. Run your virus/spyware scanner.

Yah no shit, I have no idea what your talking about. I see nothing but gun products and reviews and other AR15.com gun crap, but nothing like your getting whatever it may be.

It hit me once before, I got the spyware/adware and put the stupid banners at the top of the different gun forums I visit.

I posted the same question once upon a time and got the same responses!

Get Ad Aware SE, Spybot Search and Destroy (do NOT get the spyware one tho... theres a spoof version of it) or one of the other good well known anti spyware programs.

If you have a legit version of Windows XP, you can get Windows Defender too which is a good program.

What is up with the Stupid Adds on the Main Page?

Are these adds being shown guaranteed not to give us a virus or bug?

I do not intend to click on them but having to move my mouse over them makes me nervous.

Has ARFCOM had  to stoop to this type of advertising,

Its my computer, its a laptop that this is happening on.

The big Add to the left was showing all kind of stuff on it, obviously nothing weapons related.

Obviously I jumped the gun on this one.

I'm not the foremost expert on this, but it should be fixable.

Ad-Aware 2007
That's Ad-aware.  Download it and give it a try!

AVG Free

That's AVG anti-virus.

If those don't help you, here's a free trial of Trojanhunter:

Sounds like a 1D10T error or maybe an EBKAC. If it turns out to be a EBKAC you're boned.

As mentioned above, Ad-Aware SE, Spybot S&D and Spywareblaster.

These three programs, combined with a good anti-virus suite will keep you clean.

Just learn HOW to use them correctly and you'll have little problem.

Also, believe it or not, Microsoft's Anti-Spyware program IS really good.  It used to be called Giant Anti-spyware and was simply bought from it's creators BY Microsoft.  It's not a 'native' MS product and works quite well at actively detecting spyware right from the get go, as the crap tries to install itself.  Giant A-S has had good reviews for a long while now, before being bought out by Bill, AND the best part is, it's free. (for the time being, anyways)  As long as you have a 'valid' Windows license, you can just download it right from MS's site and it'll go a  LONG way towards actively protecting your computer from this kind of crap.

Like I said, spend a little time learning HOW to use those programs, so they're as effective as they can be, and you won't have garbage like this happen anymore.
