[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Computer help needed

I've run adaware and spybot search and destroy with no luck. I keep getting pop-ups whether I am online or not. I have to restart my computer every 30 minutes as it gets so slow that I can't do anything. I think I have a virus of some sort. Anything I can download that will help me get rid of it??

AVG is a free virus scanner.

google it, download install and update it.

Check to see if windows messenger (this is not the same thing as microsoft or msn messenger) is disabled.

I downloaded something called antivir something or other. It found 19 trojans/worms/viruses. Looks like it took care of my problem
