Is there any book or manual that tells what programs are by the names that appear when you hit Control-Alt-Delete? I know we've discussed how many most of us have running, but I'd like to find out what they are so I know if I can/should do a "Find..........." and remove/delete them. I have new ones show up and sometimes I delete them, only to have them reappear the next day.

Some, like Norton, are obvious, but most aren't. Any source for this info would be appreciated.

Google something you are unfamiliar with. You will find it. This is a useful tool to find out what port is being used by the programs.

Start Menu

Run

type "msconfig" (without quotes)

Go to the start-up tab

This gives you a better idea of what's being started up with your computer. Some are more clear than others.

Uncheck and reboot as necessary.

That'll be $20 please.

I can't help you with the exact descriptions of what's running but that's the best I can do.

To clarify for my little pea-brain;

Anything listed in "Top Security Risks" that I find on my PC should be deleted, right?
