How do I convert a .pdf file (stored in memory)  to a plain text file for e-mailing?

Duh!

I cain't figger it out!

If the document lets you highlite the text then a copy/paste should work for you.

ETA:  Or you could just e-mail the pdf.

good luck.

Thats a big reason .pdf s are used is that its very hard to make it  into plain text.

You might be able to find some program for it.


But your better of just sending the .pdf as an attachment in the email

The recipient is unsighted. I need to convert so that his braile machine can print it.

In the Acrobat PDF viewer, select Tools, then select the Basic
submmenu, the Select tool which looks like a capital I.
Then copy-paste to your document.
That should do it.

Click on "File" in the upper left corner, then select "Save as Text".

That worked. It took a while and removed all formatting including paragraphs etc., but it worked!

Just a note:
if the normal copy&paste feature is blocked or if the text you want is really an embedded image, then one can use Adobe Illustrator to open and edit the PDF. You can copy out protected text as well as export any original image files.
