| Should I shoot a BHP or G23 in a USPSA Area? Both in 40. I'm new to BHP and decent with Glock. Limited with G23 and limited 10 with the BHP. |

Well if its a big match obviously shoot the pistol you have more time behind. I'd like to shoot the BHP for the challenge of it. I'm unclassified and won't have time or money to get classified before the match. Also, I'd like to see if I can shoot the entire thing without someone asking if I'm .mil.

Well if its a big match obviously shoot the pistol you have more time behind. & the equipment for. I have 5 mags for the BHP and a similar number for the G23. I have universal mag pouches and holsters for both. The HP will make you look more of a vet(not mil but long time shooter) |

Depending on magazine capacity, both guns will let you shoot major in either limited or limited ten.
There's a lot of Glocks in those divisions. I haven't seen many BHPs, but the guys that shoot them aren't disadvantaged in any way. Personally, I'd go with the BHP since I shoot 1911's a lot & the two pistols handle the same. If you're worried about your score, shoot the one you've shot the most. If you're just going for fun, shoot the one that's the most fun. |

The Glock 23 is about the worst Glock pistol for any competition use, it is small and snappy, and has a short sight radius.
I've been shooting Glocks in USPSA for about 10 years, as well as a couple of 'smith-built STI's. I own a G17, 19, 26, and 34. I've owned a 23, 24, 27, and the 35. That being said, shoot what you are comfortable with. Go out and have fun, and do so safely. I would rather see you get involved in the sport and enjoy yourself than worry about what equipment to use. Make sure you have a good holster, Blade-Tech, SideArmor, CompTac, etc. and at least 4 or 5 magazines. |
