Okay, that was clickbait. But here you are. ![]() Truth be told, this has fuck all to do with the Common Core guidelines, but it was the result of an assignment given to my 12 year old daughter, by her public school - write a "recipe poem". I (shame on me) didn't even know about the assignment until after it was graded and returned, but when I saw it tonight...I dunno. I felt a simultaneous sense of pride and amusement. I'm 34, and I wouldn't have come up with this, if asked to write a "recipe poem". The best part? She was instructed to write it in ink. She wrote it in pencil, carefully traced over the good version in ink, then erased the pencil. I swear to fucking God, I didn't teach this to her. She worked it out on her own. I'm so proud.
