Supposedly, they made less than a dozen of them, one left in the Knights vault, the others in a US Navy armory somewhere. Been a long time since I looked it up. |

For the money, LMT LWRC GEISSELE SIG Any of the above and several I haven’t thought about would be purchased ‘by me’. So what’s the big deal. I’m a ‘fanboy’ and moderate collector. I previously purchased (cheap) Colts if I thought there would be future collector value. Basically safe queens that mean allot to a safe Queen kinda guy. When people ask about what they should by I have a standard mantra. If going to war DD. If want a new sports car gun GE or LWRC if piston fan. If want best quality per dollar LMT. If want good all purpose AR SIG. If you want a safe Queen buy a Colt pre2018.  Edit 9/17/22. I was wrong. The new M5 with all the features can run with any ‘race car gun’. Wouldn’t ‘go to war’ with it yet as it’s un-proven but little danger of that for this fudd anyway. I suppose I’m now a

Yeah, it’s a fine rail. I’ve got one on my CM762 and love it. Ease of dropping rail without fiddling with barrel but or retainers. There’s an adapter to anything Mlok and plenty of quality Mlok direct fits. It also ensures a 100% free float. I vote that Colt selected well on that. Actually the ‘only’ criticism I have is the big boy pricing. Colt just isn’t one of the big boys anymore. Same product, same quality. Moderate upgrades but it’s still not a big boy tier1 operator race gun. $1200 is my value point for the M5. That’s okay, I enjoy the Colts I already have.

It appears they used the same ‘style’ upper as they were using on their CMR big bores. Here’s a pic of a couple of my uppers but unfortunately I didn’t capture the barrel threads. I snapped it for someone who was curious about the gas block differences. Everything I find in the current Colt Canada catalog has a 1 piece integrated rail/reciever. The only similarity I can find are the CMR series. Attached File |
