27-29 June 2024 Tremont, PA - Geissele's private range “We hold this emesis to be self-evident” RESULTS THREAD ~We The Peeple Attached File Signup Link! (You must fill out the form to make the run list) Welcome to the next installment of Cola Warrior Keystone at Geissele's private range near Tremont, PA. 1st time to Cola Warrior? You need to be sponsored/recommended by an existing Cola Vet. If a Cola Vet's +1 violates the rules and is asked to leave, they (the Cola Vet) may be asked to accompany their +1’s departure. If you're a noob without a Cola Vet sponsor please contact me via PM. There are 50 run slots for this event, first come first served. Standby will accommodate over 50, everyone will run. Be there early and ready to run. 15 slots for staff and sponsors 5 slots for night vision runners (flexible, may increase with interest) 10 noob slots, must have a vet vouch for you - details below 20 Cola Vets Standby will be arranged by timestamp on the signup form. Where: Geissele's range near Tremont, PA. Directions/instructions will go out by email before the event. Closest airports and approximate travel time: Harrisburg (MDT) – 45 minutes Lehigh Valley (ABE) – 1 hr 15 min Philadelphia (PHL) – 2 hours Baltimore (BWI) – 2 hr 15 min JFK/EWR – 2 ½ - 3 hours Local accommodations: There is a small town within 20-30 minutes of the site. Convenience stores, fast food, small restaurants, and motel/travel lodges are located there. Sleeping arrangements on-site: People have successfully brought travel trailers & small motorhomes, if you have one that meets the clearance criteria, feel free to bring it. Otherwise, please pack whatever camping gear in the manner you are accustomed to. Tent, sleeping bag, and I recommend a tarp to place your tent on. Weather can be unpredictable in the hills at event, plan on sun screen and shade during the day, and warm clothing for the evening/night. Restrooms: Porta-potties on site. Food: Taking a page out of the South East book, this event will be without a kitchen. Bring whatever food you desire to eat. If yall want to organize and cook food together we won’t stop you, but donations for this event will take care of porta potties, obstacles, materials, and patches. Food is not provided. Donations: There is no entry fee. That being said - latrines and incidentals take bucks. Averaged out over attendees is around $35 per person. Please give in what way you can so we can have the things. Runners will also receive an event patch each. Ppal donation link (FF preferred as no fee) OVERALL RULES: No alcohol at the firing range and no open consumption. Follow all firearms safety rules. No handling of firearms after drinking. No items of a sexual nature, there are kids around. Must sign a waiver before running the course. A wristband will be provided on arrival and must be worn. If you start drinking it must be surrendered. You cannot run the course or handle firearms if you don’t have a wristband. Listen to CW Staff - if they tell you not to do something and you do it, you're done. Due to issues in the past - enforcement regarding drinking at the range will be stringent. There will be no warnings, you will be told to leave. If you break any of these rules you will be banned from this and all future Cola Warriors. COURSE RULES: 5 minute penalty for each failed obstacle. Each obstacle must be seriously attempted for at least 10 seconds. 10 minutes to complete the obstacles. 5 minute penalty if ak47 field strip isn't complete. 5 minute penalty for each uneaten peep. Last Peep must be in the mouth before the run. 5 minute penalty for each target left un-hit, one hit each steel target. 5 minute penalty for hitting pistol targets with rifle. Reactive targets must be hit to react as designed, falling targets must fall. 10 minute total chug time allowed, everything left after will be penalized. 6x 12oz cans, 3x 24oz cans, or 1x 2liter with a 5oz chaser are the only allowed sizes. Non-standard sizes will count as 2 liter. If you vomit before finishing a 12oz can, no matter how much is left that can it is a 5 minute penalty. If you vomit before finishing a 24oz can, no matter how much is left that can is a 10 minute penalty. If you vomit before finishing 2 liters, it is a 30 minute penalty Your cleared/safe rifle and pistol and all gear must be carried with you after leaving the Peep/AK. (1/2 mile run) Sling for rifle, holster for pistol, chest rig or belt for mag carriers. Backpack, satchel, or candolier for chug. Or everything in a backpack if you want, cans broken on pistol during the run is fun. Night run only: 5-minute penalty for visible light ND, 10-minute penalty for prolonged use. Two pistol mags, two rifle mags, no capacity limit. To balance that, you only have 15 minutes from the first round fired to complete the course of fire. To avoid tearing up the nifty reactive steel targets, please don't bring calibers that exceed 3500 fps at the muzzle or 3500 ft/lbs of energy. Due to fire risk (really) and general liability, no ammo that attracts a magnet can be used. Combat class requirements: Level 3+ special threat hard plates, front and rear 2 rifle mags with ammo 2 pistol mags with ammo At least 1 quart of water Medkit that consists of at least a tourniquet and combat bandage All must be worn the entire duration and you need to have all of it on (minus used ammo) during the chug. Night Vision Thursday night, Friday night. 3/2 per night, 1st come, 1st served. Procrastinate? Welcome to Saturday AM day run. Closing Ceremony: Plan to attend. If you don't - items you may have been awarded will go back into the general prize pool. The only exception is a designated proxy who collects things on your behalf. Staff is already busy with things, so please don't request this of them. Other Stuff: Questions are great, but please watch this original post (OP) for the latest and greatest info. | I really wanted to go and wish I could, as I almost certainly cannot make the next three. But the dates just don't work for me. I get off of my ship in Alaska on the 28th and have to go to the airport to fly to Korea on the 29th. If this event is still around in four years hopefully I can make that one. |

My next three summers will involve sailing for summer cruise for school and then sailing in Alaska until the next fall semester starts. It's unlikely I'll have any time for Cola during those summers. Even if I wasn't going to Korea and flew straight from work the only way it would work is if I knew I'd be able to run Saturday morning and I'd miss most of the experience, so it wouldn't make sense given the expense. It's also why I didn't sign up for the match in AZ (the Korea trip). I'm just hoping West coincides with my Spring Break or something, lol. I really don't want to miss it and my brother is really determined to make this next one (sounds like his USAF friend he brought wants to come and do it again, too). If I can only do one Cola, I want it to be West. I'm going to try and make at least one more if I can next year, though. |
