Rise of Heartland. The Phoenix has risen reborn. Come for the run, stay for the fire! Cola Heartland had to find a new home after 4 good years. Due to the range wanting to start charging a fee to use the range. Hornady is a new sponsor to Cola Warrior this year. Heartland 5 will be held on Hornady's range, Heartland Shooting Park in Grand Island NE. Range access has been generously sponsored by Hornady. The dates this year will be September 18th-20th. There will be 40 run slots (with 6 night runs, both rifle and pistol need suppressed) which 10 will be reserved to first time runners. There will be no waiting for newbs to signup, once you say you’re in, then you’re in. There will be 10 standby spots. Standby runs last, after all scheduled runs are complete. Runs will end at 10am sharp on Saturday September 20th so we can do awards, group photo, etc. after the range/site is picked up. THE COURSE: OBSTACLE PEEP RUN SHOOT CHUG GEAR LIST: Rifle w/ mags/ammo (60 total rounds or max 2 mags) Pistol w/ mags/ammo (42 total rounds or max 2 mags) 6 carbonated beverages If you don’t have the gear, no worries, speak up and someone will lend theirs. OVERALL RULES: Follow all firearms safety rules. No handling of firearms after drinking. No alcohol at covered firing line. No airsoft at this event. No items of a sexual nature, there are kiddos around. Must sign a waiver before running. Absolutely NO SHOOTING of wildlife If you break any of these rules you will be banned from this and all future Cola Warriors. COURSE RULES: 5 min. penalty for each failed obstacle. Each obstacle must be attempted for at least 10 seconds. 5 min. penalty for each peep uneaten or spit out. 5 min. penalty for each target left un-hit, one hit on each steel target. 10 minute total chug time allowed, any remaining will be penalized. 6 12oz cans, 3 24oz cans or 1 2liter with a 5oz chaser are the only allowed sizes. If you spew before finishing a 12oz can, no matter how much is left that can is a 5 minute penalty. If you spew before finishing a 24oz can, no matter what’s left it’ll be a 10 minute penalty. If you spew before finishing the 2 liter it is a 30 minute penalty. All bottles and cans will be shown empty before throwing to the side or spewing. The run portion will be with cleared rifle, pistol, mags and chug. Firearms will be triple checked so make sure it’s cleared. You can throw your pistol, mags, and chug in a backpack or if you have a retention holster that works to. Just remember to have your chug with you. You will pick up your gats, mags and chug at peep station. Everyone will shoot rifle first. Plan for targets from 25 yards to 600 yards. There will be movement between rifle targets. Once done with rifle, shooter will move to pistol stage. Re-runs will be available on a case by case evaluation. For issue outside shooters control. If you bring crap gear and it fails. You own that. Do not ask for a re-run. If you do not follow instructions. Forget your chug or take a wrong turn on the run. You will not get a re-run. Harsh but fair! But we need donations to get enough funding for food/porta-pots/etc. Cola Warrior is free but food and drinks are not. ($75 is a rough estimate per attendee) Grand Island has a regional airport with direct flights from Las Vegas. Other flights are available. LNK is also within driving distance to GI.
