Alot of people over look it, even though they are at their washer once a week or more. I check mine when I remember and tonight it may have saved me a huge headache.

I went to put a load of laundry in and noticed the line had ballooned out. I poked at it and sure enough it sprung a pin hole leak. Surprisingly enough it was the cold water line, this is something I would expect from a hot water line. After further inspection the hot water line was the same way at the washer connection.

You should also check sinks, dishwashers etc. All these lines are recommended to be replaced every 5 years.

New Watts "flood safe" lines. They have a disconnect built in so if line burst and they get too much pressure going through the line it shuts off. I have never used these before so we will see if they work.

Sorry but I couldn't get this to flip back.

Those braided stainless lines you switched over to are the only way to go now.

While the steel braided lines are better, they can still deteriate from the inside out, be on the lookout for rusted lines.

I put Watts in a couple years ago, mine aren't the flood safe, but one thing I did was mount shut off valves right in the box in the wall, so when I'm done washing the water supply is off.
