You really think they inspect every single one of the million or so cartridges they make every day? Complain to Federal; they'll probably send you a box of the stuff. Still fun to see. I've never come across one that bad. My friend had a Top Gun 12 gauge shell that exploded. It recoiled so violently that it released the sear on the upper barrel. God bless SKB, the action wasn't even damaged. He wasn't angry about it - shit happens. They paid SKB to ship and inspect the gun and they gave him a case of shells. |

I bet it would still fire... Not 100% you would have a functional weapon after but if you could get it to chamber you might have a winner! Side note: send them an email with that photo and they will send you a new box of ammo. I bought a $40 box of Winchester.44 mag ammo in which 10% of the rounds looked worse than that. I sent an email and never got a response. |

Go buy a jar of JIF peanut butter. Every single peanut was inspected for color after roasting and before processing into paste. Every. Single. Peanut. Done on a conveyor with dozens of cameras and gets a 99.999% success rate. Easy to set up a similar process for ammo after loading and it would be 99.999% accurate 100% of the time. |

Don't eat JIF any more. They removed the peanut oil which is good for you and replaced it with vegetable oil |

Peanut butter is way bigger business too |

And they probably do have a quality control process in place that causes 99.999% of ammo sent out to commercial buyers to be just fine, that still leaves 10 screwed up rounds per million and they make like 8 million a day (and I'm pretty sure that is just 22lr production) |

Isn't it federal that has basically told a LE member her to FOAD after a round of theirs caused a kaboom in his Bravo upper? I couldn't find the thread to see where it is now, but I remember reading it about a month ago, that even after BCM dissected his barrel to show how a round got lodged in there, they still won't respond or do anything about it ...
So with that in mind, I doubt federal will do squat for your round. Just chalk it up to a loss and move on shooting the rest. ETA: Found Thread and it looks like Federal finally came thru but not before extorting the OP to give up the evidence before agreeing to pay for a new upper in which they incompetently reviewed themselves. |
