I have recieved a travel expense check from work that I need to cash without the wife knowing.  If I go to our bank and cash it, will anything show up on our accountt hat it has been done?  (online or on paper?)

Already went to Walmart in an attempt to cash it, and they use some dumbshit company called Certegy and they denied it!  The check fit a profile of fraud.  LMAO!  The check is from a major international company.

My company uses PNC Bank and there isn't a local branch, so that idea is out too.

IF you just cash it and take the cash, it won't show up anywhere. IF you deposit it, that's another story. Best bet is to take it to the bank it was written on and cash it there, if possible.

just cash it out at your bank

It will probably show up as a deposit and withdraw.  Really depends on how the bank system is setup.

Why not have a family member like your parents, brother, whoever you  trust cash it for you if you need to keep it hidden.  Just sign it over to them, have them cash it at their bank and give you the money.

I am going to assume the best that he is using it to someway surprise her.

Your bank should just cash it.

It looks like it is safe to cash it at my bank.  Take the cash, throw it on a visa debit card and go buy my new toy that the wife needs to know nothing about.  Yeah, it sucks having to do this, but I'm tired of hearing "ok, just buy it.  But that will be your xmas, birthday, or whatever present" from the misses who happens to also be the finance czar at my house.

Why don't the two of you have separate checking accounts?

$600 shock for the dirtbike, and another $100 for fork springs.  I know, I'm a dog.  I'm almost done getting this bike set up the way I want it, and this will seal the deal.  She has been promised new furniture for all of this, but not right now dammit!

go to your bank and cash it. But be aware that they might put a hold on funds in your account to make sure the funds clear. you want complete secrecy? go to a check cashing place and play the fee.

At most banks you can cash it if you have an account.  You endorse and the teller writes your account # on the back––in case it bounces, so they know who to charge.  It will only show up on your account if it does bounce, otherwise no record is kept.

This. I used to work at a bank.  If you have a savings account you can cash it against it would be better.

Watch, he'll do this and the check bounce. Then he's busted.  This would be some funny shit.
