I get a call around 1500 hrs asking if I want to work an off-duty detail on short notice.

Of course I do because I have five kids and always need extra money.

So it turns out that Tom Arnold is filming an episode of "My Big Redneck Wedding" at a local mud bog and his staff has requested extra security.

Arnold seemed like a nice guy.  He was personable and never turned down a request for a photo or an autograph and was genuinely nice to the kids.

I never realized how hard all of the TV people worked to put on a show.  There were a LOT of behind the scenes people and all of them had plenty to do.

And for the "pics or it didn't happen people"

I like Tom Arnold, he is a goof.  I worked on a NFL contract for SuperBowl but all I got was a big fat check

No check yet, gotta wait for them to send it.  Only six hours worth of work but should be around $275.

It all helps!  NFL was not bad, about $3500 for a period of 4-5 days.  But it was more like babysitting children rather than protection.  I don't hold a high regard for most of the players, not at all.

I worked on a couple of movie sets as security. Met Willie Nelson and Chris Christopherson when they did the movie "A Pair of Aces". Willie is cool, and treats you like he's known you all his life. Chris is / was an arrogant, stuck up prick.

It's neat to watch how they make the movies. There's a LOT of stuff that goes on behind the scenes, and LOTS of people there who make it all happen.

I figure Tom Arnold would be cool to party with. I'd like to get a few beers in him, and get his real opinion of Roseanne, though I'll bet I can figure that out for myself...

I watched True Lies the other day, that's one of my favorite movies with him.

For those in the Boston area.  A while back I was the head of a 3 person team for Boston Bruin's
Coach Terry O'Reilly.  He commented that my guys were very professional and never asked for anything
like pictures or anything.  He gave us all signed autographs  but had asked before hand that no photographs be taken.

He was easy to take care of and one of my guys commented that he was a Bruiser when he played for the Bruins so
someone would have to be insane to take a swing at him.  We were all armed anyways.

I recorded it and watched it last night.  Tom Arnold is pretty funny in that movie.
