Attached File We have a 7 month old pup that we’ve been trying to find a home for. We took Jack and a couple of his litter mates in around ten weeks old to help some folks out. Our family isn’t currently suited to a balanced life for a dog with work, school, extracurriculars, sports, youth group, etc going on. We’re just gone too many hours on too many days of the week. We took these guys in when school was out, so kids were home to care for them, and we thought they’d all have homes by now. We lost a fifteen year old dog last year who was perfectly content and independent enough to not be bothered by being home alone for 8-12 hours a day. I originally agreed to help out with these pups thinking it might help the kids cope with losing our dog and get a little joy out of helping out some other dogs. Jacks two siblings are gone, but he’s managed to stick around. According to the reported mix of the parents, Jack is part Siberian Husky, German Shepard, golden retriever, and Pomeranian. Maybe so, but when I look at him I’m pretty sure there is definitely more cattle dog than any of the others. He’s well socialized, kids, neighbors, other dogs. He hasn’t been around cats, so not sure how that would go. He’s crate trained, and has learned sit, stay, shake, lay down, and come. He generally listens and responds to commands, but does get distracted or is outright stubborn at times. He’s not food aggressive, and is a polite treat taker (Always listens to sit and stay when waiting for a treat). He has never left our yard off leash, and seems content to wander the yard but always return to “his people.” I would say he’s generally a good boy, but I think too much time in the crate is taking its toll. It’s obvious lately he’s restless/frustrated at times. He does get vocal or “handsy“ at times to get attention when he’s restless. There’s no bad behaviors or habits developed, he’s just a puppy that needs more attention and outside play. He’s currently around 20-24” at the shoulder and I would guess 45 pounds. Up to date on shots, has been chipped, is not neutered. I would appreciate any help in finding his pup a home. Attached File |

He is a good looking pup and I would wager that with a little more attention he would bond very well with a new family/pack. FWIW I will contribute to a fund to help get this dog to his forever home. Please keep me in mind if he needs a transportation fund so he can get to his forever home. |
