Seems like we are getting a cancer thread weekly. Do you all believe there is a rapid increase in people being diagnosed and if so what do you think the cause is?
I believe there is a recent man made increase in autism and cancer. In my opinion it has everything to do with the crap we are eating today. Thoughts? |

I'm sure our food with all its additives and chemicals is promoting an increase in cancer. That and the multiple sources of slow, low dose radiation poisoning. The good news is it's going to get much worse before it gets better. Millennials shouldn't have to worry. It will be cardiac events taking them out. Cracks me up watching them struggle to pry themselves out of the car to get a movie at redbox in their jammies and slippers. Lol! |

Internet inventor Al Gore said so. |

You can believe what you want but a quick look at reputable sources says otherwise. Obesity is a major risk factor but that isn't really because of what we're eating, but how much. The biggest risk factor for most cancers is simply getting older. |

The biggest risk factor for most cancers is simply getting older. Humans aren't adapted to eating a harvest diet from cradle to grave. In nature large quantities of carbohydrates are only available seasonally. Our diets have everything to do with the increase in chronic disease and obesity, insulin resistance is acquired, it is acquired by healthy athletic people too if they're genetically unlucky. We eat so much because what we eat is giving us metabolic disorders. Cancer too, large quantities of glucose combined with short circuiting autophagy and apoptosis, the body's natural process of recycling weak and damaged cells. Have a winter, cut carbs for a few months a year. Fast a few days a couple times a year. Do you more good than all the pills they'll give you to try to contain the symptoms of not doing so. |

I think cancer is going down.
I think our ability to communicate to large masses about cancer has gone up dramatically. I.E. 20 years ago I would have never heard of anyone getting cancer that didn't directly tell me. now I hear about cancer from people all over the globe, every day, making it seem a lot more prevalent than it truly is. just a hunch though, I have no data to back it up. |

Pre cancer here, esophageal So far so good....last growth was benign. Currently doing BCG treatments in bladder. Oncologists I have talked to pretty much agree.....SUGAR......we eat to much and we are too fat. Almost everyone has tumors or cancerous growths somewhere....but sugar is food for cancer, and we eat to much of it as a population. |
| This site has been around for a long time. Members have been around a long time as well, getting older. As we get older, the wheels fall off the car, bit by bit, for many of us. We know what causes cancer; environmental causes, dietary causes, etc. Unfortunately, bound to happen. Prayers to all. |

Better diagnosis, living longer, better communications on social media. You are hearing about people who would normally be outside your social sphere who are getting these illnesses. |

Been saying something similar for years... Yeah, Yeah, we now have the interwebs & better communication methods blah, blah, blah... BUT with all the disease, especially in the GI tract like IBD, IBS, ulcerative colitis, GERD, crohns, diverticulitus, and the newest one exocrine pancreatic insufficientcy or IEP. It would most likely have something to do with diet, considering the system effected. Since a few decades ago you didn't hear of anywhere NEAR this amount gastro intestinal problems.
Contrary to popular belief people did talk to each other before the internet so if it was so prevalent then it would have been being discussed at that time as well. Keep telling yourself that that it's just the internet being responsible for hearing more about it if that makes you feel any better. Alot of the overprocessing of foods started in the 60's & 70's and less than a generation later you have all these maladies...You can piss & moan that correlation doesn't equal causation but the universial truth is that there is no smoke without fire. Big pharma will help you out with meds. for all this shit though, along with more meds. to help with the side effects of the first bunch.....and around and around we go. |
| What we consume certainly is a possibility. If you think about it for a moment how do large industrial farms put out so much food? In the spring they might spray To kill all the weeds . Then plant a patent protected genetically modified corn. Then spray more to kill the weeds while leavening the corn alone. Said corn might be used to feed chickens, cows or whatever. And we being the end-user. Not to mention all the shit in processed foods. Decades of that and you might damage a few cells. |
