So did Harper and Co Win????? |
Outstanding! Maybe the folks to the north got a little tired of that ass Martin. Not wanting to be led by the nose is one thing, being an absolute shmuck to your friends in this world on everything you can is another. Maybe the course will change a bit up there. |
He has a point. There is some speculation that many of the extreme-lefties abandoned their own candidates, just to keep the conservatives from winning. Anyway, it's a pretty good bet that the $2.5B national gun registry will now be scrapped. |

Looks like a minority Conservative government. Don't know who they would form a coalition government with though if they half to. The NDPers pissed everyone off, and no one likes the BQ (Bloc Quebecois aka the block heads) . Harper will have a tough job ahead of him. |
BQ is too lefty, they don't even want to swear allegiance to Canada. The NDPers pissed off everyone during the election. If Harper can avoid screwing up, and not let the Liberals sabotage his efforts, his job is to work for a majority government next time. |
I wouldn't want it any other way! ![]() I'm a very happy Canuck this morning. This changes a lot of things for us firearms owners. It affects me directly in that I shouldn't have to take the feds to court to keep one of my handguns. Been to court twice already and had my hearing date set for september. Molon Labe! |
While I understand why the conservatives disagree with BQ on most of their domestic agenda, I don't quite understand why the conservatives don't ally with BQ on BQ's sovereignty theme. A seperate Quebec would vastly decrease the Canadian liberal population, possibly even giving the conservative Canadian Shield provinces a majority over Ontario's huge block of liberal moderates. Toss the Quebecois out,and you get a far more conservative Canada. Reading the Conservative party's platform in Canada is just depressing. They'd be moderate Democrats here in the US.

What Harper needs to do is win over the voters here in Atlantic Canada. For a reason that is beyond me..most of the LIEberals were reelected here. When the last election was going on Harper referred to the Atlantic Provinces has having a "culture of defeatism". That hurt him in a big way as us Maritimers don't change our minds or political views on a whim. He was in damage control this time around but apparently it wasn't enough. He has the next 4 years to prove to the voters here that his government is a better choice then the thieves that just got booted. My MP is Conservative and he was re elected in a landslide. 21000 votes to the liberals 9000. Another CPC MP was reelected by a stong margin as well. Between the two of them I'm hoping they will do the right things and increase the Conservatives seats in the Maritimes. |

Not all is rosey in the great north...NPR (National Propaganda Radio) was focusing on BC voting down the "christians" who ran... (BC = Kalifornia north?). I'll wait & see if conservitive government will actualy be able to change the laws of the land...BUT, what a welcome turn! YOU GO CANADA! |
(albeit a minority... for now)
