SCHOOL MASCOTS

California public schools will be barred from using the name "Redskins"
for sports teams and mascots under AB30 by Assemblyman Luis Alejo,
D-Watsonville. American Indians regard the term as offensive.

LOL, They actually passed this law.  That and the cow fart law.   What a bunch of lunatics.

SACRAMENTO (AP) — California’s Legislature has approved regulations on
cow flatulence and manure – both blamed for releasing greenhouse gases.

The percentage of Native Americans offended by Redskins is lower than the percentage of Americans offended by almost anything else.

New poll finds 9 in 10 Native Americans aren’t offended by Redskins name

This is yet another non-issue being blown up by a handful of whining children and special multi-gender snowflakes.

Eh, not that you guys need fuel for the anti-California fire but the CA DOJ just filed their first regulation proposal concerning the ban on and subsequent registration of, "bullet-button assault weapons".

You can Google it (search for: Calif. DOJ Files Bullet-Button Assault Weapons Regulations with OAL) if you want to read it but suffice it to say - Californian's are not going to get to register their rifles and remove the bullet-buttons.  The DOJ is even going to make you submit multiple angle pictures of all registered rifles as evidence of compliance.

I grew up there. I consider it my home state, even though I was born in Oho and lived in Wyoming and Oklahoma beforehand.

It didn't used to be this way. It really didn't.

If only I were a bit older. Dad and older friends tell me all the time how cool our little surf town was back in the 70s and 80s.

It gets worse. Try hanging out with guys that grew up in San Francisco (they're all north of 60 years old now).

It was (prepare yourself) a straight up blue collar town at one point. You could actually live in a flat with a minimum wage job, once upon a time. And a few years earlier, you might have been a kid in the mid 60's riding your bike up and down the hills, with zero traffic. There used to be actual neighborhoods. With neighbors and shit. Doing neighbor stuff.

California law goes into effect 2017 - Bans state travel reimbursement to states who discriminate

SACRAMENTO – Today, the California State Assembly passed a bill by Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) that would ban state-funded travel to states that discriminate against LGBT individuals. Assembly Bill 1887 passed on a bi-partisan 54-21 vote.

“AB 1887 sends a clear message that we do not tolerate discrimination in California or anywhere beyond our borders,” Assemblymember Low said.  “Just as we strive to be a state that provides equal opportunity for all, we should not be spending our tax dollars in states that allow discrimination toward the LGBT community. We are stronger by being inclusive,” he added.

The bill, sponsored by Equality California and the National Center for Lesbian Rights, would prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to fund travel to states like North Carolina and Mississippi and other states that enact laws that sanction or require discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

This morning, United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch filed a civil rights lawsuit against the state of North Carolina for the implementation of House Bill 2 which targets transgender individuals. Numerous California leaders including California Attorney General Kamala Harris, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, and Apple’s Tim Cook have voiced their opposition to these unjust, discriminatory laws.

“Californians have made it very clear that they support treating everyone equally,” said Rick Zbur, Executive Director of Equality California.  “California should not be spending taxpayer dollars in states where lawmakers are targeting the LGBT community for discrimination.  AB 1887 will help make sure that California is not helping to finance that discrimination.”

“We applaud the Assembly for its actions on AB 1887,” said Kate Kendell, Executive Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights. “With the largest economy in the United States and the nation watching, it is imperative that California take a stand to prevent the use of taxpayer money to fund travel to states that actively promote and support discrimination against LGBT people and their families.”

CA used to be a great place . . . grew up there in the 50's and early 60's . . . before all the fruits and nuts showed up and the largest ethnic group was of Chinese/Japanese descent.

Does the DOJ want to get bombarded with dick pics?
Because that is how you get bombarded with dick pics.

I predict a compliance percentage in the single digits.
