And yes the phone is a different modem and is fairly large but resets automatically after a power or cable failure. https://www.timewarnercable.com/content/dam/residential/pdfs/support/internet/twc-compatible-modems.pdf ETA: Fuck Spectrum

Since I dont want a dish or att sevice I am stuck with Sprectum.. Yes that is how I spell it whenever I pay my bill. Sprectum. Heard of DirectTV Now? It's their service over internet so you can ditch the Cable part of Sprectrum. Im strongly considering this. Lineup |

Netgear CM500
I've got the above modem running on my Time Warner/Spectrum account running 300/100. I have not had any problems. |

| We have had Spectrum for about a year now, and it is much cheaper, faster, and reliable than Verizon DSL. Only recently has the internet been spotty. Using You Tube as an example, it would auto play with no stops 1080p. Now sometimes it does, sometimes it has to play at 240. Lately too the net will just loose connection completely. It's their modem by the way. |

i just confirmed we can buy our own modem, just from their approved list which seems extensive https://www.timewarnercable.com/content/dam/residential/pdfs/support/internet/twc-compatible-modems.pdf ETA: Fuck Spectrum ![]() I bought a Netgear CM500 cheap and Ubiquiti router and wireless access point. Works great, fast, capable and set-it-up-and-forget-it. My phones just use the wireless internet connection when I'm home. Log onto the local network once and that's it. No muss, no fuss. |

Lineup The cool thing about it is I can watch their lineup on my plasma, my computers, and even on my iPhone. AT&T has no data cap on watching DirectTV Now on your phone, but they do on stuff like Netflix. I have a 'no data cap' Spectrum account for my internet provider so I can stream 24/7. |

One tip I can give is to see which cable modems the ISP dictates for their business accounts and use one of those.
Those modems are the ones they have done more extensive testing with. On my market (Cox), none of those surfboards are business approved. I spoke at length with one of their engineers in Rhode Island last year about how they test the various modems. He said the Cisco modems work the best overall and from my experience I would tend to agree. I used to run the SurfBoards at home and went through several of them that just died. I took a DPC3010 that a customer was discarding home and it has been rock solid for a few years. YMMV. In our market I have several business accounts that have an Arris modem for the phones and a Cisco for the data. They just installed them with a 3GHz splitter. Very few of my business accounts have Arris on the data side but not many. |

I've had several issues with their free block modem. I used to have my own sb6141 arris and they said since I have their phone service i have to use one of their modems. If you only have cable then you can run your own approved modem from the list. |
