Am I the only one with a Cabelas addiction? As soon as I get a new catalog, I'll sneek away into the shitter for hours looking for new stuff. Most of the time, I have to arm wrestle my son for them. Then, last night, I noticed a strange trend. More and more of my clothing, outerwear and gear is coming from Cabelas.
Got a new backpacking/camping catalog that has more cool stuff in it than I could ever afford. Nevermind about thier shooting catalog The wife told me a couple of weeks ago that I should buy Cabelas stock seeing how I like to give them so much of my money.
So, who else is a catalog junkie?

You're not an addict until you get the hard-backed catalog that is 3" thick....

We don't need no steenking catalog!

There's a Cabelas here in town.  Only about four blocks from my office!

And yes, I'm in there at least twice a week.

IMHO it is kind of absurd.  It seems like I get a minimum of one, and sometimes two, catalogs a week.  I got two of the hardbound ones last year.  I order quite a bit of stuff from them, but all that mailing is surely reflected in their somewhat high prices.

I am jaded with Cabela's.

The store is always crowded, the prices are high, the selection is good, unless you are looking for hard to find ammo. They always seem to have like three boxes, at the usual price plus ten percent.

Browsing is Ok. The Turkey Jerky is OK. The RESTAURANT is OK.

The total shopping experience is...meh...

Sorry to hear that the stores are sort of bogus. Never been to one. My dad was living in Springfield MS, but didn't get to visit him or Cabelas before he moved. Had a glimmer of hope for a while when cabelas said they were building one in Nevada, Vegas I think. But the latest catalogs don't have plans showing one for the SouthWest. Guess I'll have to take a road trip someday..........

I was a hardcore junkie... but I've been to 6 of the retail stores and it has reduced the catalog whoring. They built one 15 minutes away from my parent in West Virginia and there is one being built about a half hour away from Salt Lake.   Just wait... one day you will have one in California.

If you go 2 days before Christmas, after work... yes, they are crowded.  As for ammo selection, it could be better... but prices are much better over the net anyway. The food... what do you expect, it hamburgers and elk meat. You don't take a date there.

Mostly you are forgetting the displays... they are incredible, second to none. The Deer exhibit at the Wheeling store is awesome. Yeah, they are all fake but it's still cool.
