It's a failure to understand on your part. If everything is mhey, everything is mhey. Pretentious guilting doesn't work anymore, what with everyone playing by the same rules now. Everyone knows at this point it's a team sport. With only two teams- those who want to be left alone and those who want to control those wanting to be left alone. Truth, fairness and equity took a hike a long time ago. True libertarian ideas died with the development and rise of German idealism (authoritarianism replacing actual representative government) and the follow-on being the beginning of the 20th century, what with it's coercive/ violence-installed utopianism (which still finds favor despite historical facts). Most everyone is just waiting for the eventual fireworks to start. Having already picked a team. |

I have half a mind to apply for WH credentials based on Piccolo's Hash. While certainly not very likely I would get a WH Press pass, it wouldn't surprise me if Trump issued me one just to piss off CNN, ABC etc. |

Originally Posted By Gunslinger808: Retarded? Huh, I think it's valid and shows how hypocritical Pelosi is. Why would you say otherwise? It isnt a valid comparison. There are plenty of areas in the whitehouse where recording isn't even legal and reporters are not allowed. No one is challenging that. The press breifings are not the same thing. The valid comparison would be if Pelosi was hosting regular press breifings in her office and didn’t permit conservative outlets in because she didn’t like their editorial stance. If Fox or whoever thought that was happening they would be well justified in sueing. |
|
Impressively stupid move... It's a bad look and definitely won't help us in the midterms. It will get shot down in court based on existing case-law and there will likely be a successful civil lawsuit that goes with it, which is embarrassing for Trump. This does nothing but feed the sheep that are more interested in "pWnInG lIbRoLs!" than getting actual results... |

Reporting the news is still first amendment protected speech. It isn't remotely that simple. This has been tried in court several times over the span of decades and the courts have found consistently that if the Whitehouse is going to have press briefings it can't bar specific news outlets or specific reporters from those without good reason because of 1st and 5th amendment issues. Not liking what they report isn't good enough. Alleging that the news being reported isn't factual isn't good enough. If the administration wants to take this court they can, but they'll probably loose. That's fine with me. The courts should revisit such decisions from time to time and see if their reasoning still holds up. |
| Press briefings have limited space at the Whitehouse, if I was Trump, I'd kick legacy media out on the fact their irrelevant compared to far more popular media outlets. I'd rather see Hasan Piker at a press briefing than some dumbass from CNN. |

I guess if you consider it a distraction that takes some of the coverage away from the shitshow of a Iran war then you can call it a win. Personally I think 24/7 news probably has time to cover both so it isn't even a very effective distraction. |

Obama locked out news groups and favored others so no protesting this is new. https://x.com/finaltelegraph/status/2101624550425243665?s=61&t=kxZ0lCHT5PtfVXRtpASqnQ While due process may be getting short shrift I think Trump easily shows how much the Press puts into fake news. |

| One of the issues is that the Left is clogging up the news stream to such an extent that the real news can't break through. I'm cool with Trump filtering out some of the worst offenders (don't worry, there are still plenty or Orange Man Bad fake news orgs at the WH) in order to give real reporting a fighting chance. |

One out of every five respondents who applied for a credential was denied by a credentialing organization at least once. Certain categories of applicants are more likely to be denied than others: freelance journalists were significantly less likely to receive media credentials than employed journalists. Photographers were more likely to be denied than non-photographers. Respondents who identified themselves as activists were more likely to be denied than those respondents who did not. |
