| how many garands can i purchase per year from them? |
They already offer a 22, and it certainly doesn't have the following of the Garand....of course, it was available in fewer numbers as well..... |
I WISH. I know they aren't allowed, due to a law signed in under CLinton, to sell 1911's, and M14's are off limits because all of them were built on full auto receivers (and once a machine gun, always a machine gun, ) but maybe they'll be peicing together semi 14's form surplus parts? What else COULD they sell?
|
There won't be one. They are not a FFL, they can only sell milsurp US govt owned rifles, no pistols. When the Garands are gone, so are the last of the transferrable Govt owned rifles. They are trying to establish working capital to fund future ops. |
Provide training, shooting supplies and accesories and still run their John C. Garand competitions for those of us that have them, as well as competitions over at Camp Perry. THey won't be selling Garands on a large scale like they are currently used to, but will be able to get some rifles in (turn-ins from veterans organizations) for sale, but not as many as they do now. SO buy them up, 'cause it looks like they are getting low. |
Does the organizations mandate specify military surplus only? There are a lot of governmental agencies out there; I imagine that some of them must have long guns they divest themselves of occasionally, and the CMP could be a good clearing house for those sorts of things...how about government bolt actions of various models and nomenclatures...while many of them are probably shot out by the time they are retired, any possibility of there being any sizeable number of those ( yeah, i know...anything is "possible"). |
Yes, 12 per year, complete rifles or less wood. |
| My guess is that they will concentrate on milsurp ammo sales. I envision it this way, particularly in light of the various things coming down the pike from the UN. As the official outlet of the US govt. They will scour the world to seek out milsurp 06, 308, and 5.56 which they will then resell to members of CMP affiliated clubs thus satisfying that they have vetted where the ammo is going. Ta da! |
Shread them all! .............it's for the children. The CMP and its sales of surplus rifles has been in the crosshairs of the Dems before. With a Demo controlled Congress, don't hold your breath waiting for any kind of expansion of the program. For my part, I'm waiting for the opposite to occur. |
