Good lord.  We just got CATIA V5 here.  All I want to do is open a customer file and export it as an IGES.  "Save As" is grayed out.  I am wondering if it's a v4/v5 issues, but I have no clue.

Any ideas?

If the documentation was installed, I would!  I left a message, so I hope he gets it on here.

I figured it out.  It was a v4 file that needed to be switched over to v5.  I am most comfortable with UG, so this will a bit of a change.

Next I need to figure out how to get rid of this Tron-looking screen.

Go into Tools menu and click "Utility". You now should see the batch monitor.   In the batch monitor Utilities tab, double click on the Batch-DXF-IGES-STEP utility and a new window will pop up.

Just select the input file, output file type and output directory then hit run.  It will take the .CATpart file and export it to a IGES in a background process.

I'm running V5 on a Unix workstation.

ETA:  Depending on the file size, this may take a very long time.  That's why I use the batch monitor.  I start the conversion process when I leave work so it's ready in the morning.

I did look around in there and thought that might be it, but after looking I thought it was only an import utility.  I will give that a try tomorrow!  Thanks!
