Mums bday is tomorrow so I figured i would bake her a cake, since I had made a few before. I thought, no worries, cake baking should be easy enough, who I whipped out the ingredients and started mixing away somehow managing not to cover myself in crap yet. Fine and dandy, then I realised there was no more self raising flour. No worries, I can just fill the container up with this big bag of self raising flour! I will never fill up a container will flour again. Flour everywhere. I dumped the whole bag into the container and filled it up too much, so the container couldnt fill up. Bugger. Oh well, I can just shovel some of the flour back into the bag right? The mountain of flour was so unstable that when I nudged it, flour splilled all over the floor. AFter a long time and alot of wasted flour, I managed to get it all good. I mixed everything together and I was all happy so I started putting it in the cake tin. A donut shaped tin was the only one I could find so I used that. Then my sis walks in and asks "you did grease that first right?" ... ... DAMMIT So I had to put everything back in the bowl and wash and dry the tin. Then I sprayed it with umm a bit too much oil I think. This cake had better turn out alright. Im not even bothering with the icing cos im fed up right now. And here I thought making a cake would be easy as pie...I made a bunch of pies before and they were alot easier...well I didnt stuff up so much. |
