Anyone hear of him? |

I like some of his stuff. I don't know how much of a role he plays in his music, IE writing, beat, etc, as that would be a major factor in my opinion of him as a whole, but his music is pretty good. He kind of reminds me of an 80's or 90's style sound. He writes and plays instruments. Dude has talent and does pretty good music. |

I'm kind of a bystander in this thing. My wife thinks he's pretty good - but it seems like every female thinks about the same. I wanted to do something for her, not me. The reviews I read say he puts on a good show, a lot of retro stuff - more "we" than "me". Not totally self centered.. yet. I kinda think he may end up taking M Jackson's spot in a few years. I suppose I'll provide an AAR after the concert. Heard I might be sandwiched between hundreds of screaming girls. |

I suppose the only way to describe it, is the Temptations/Stylistics style, where the lead sings while others do dance moves. He does a fair amount of "oldies" stuff. I'm thinking of it as an adventure. Staying overnight in a hotel across the street from the venue, renting a car to drive there, etc. |

Quoted: Yea, pretty good chance of that, if this is any indication... 412 MILLION YouTube views? Lord help ya'. Quoted: Quoted: ... Heard I might be sandwiched between hundreds of screaming girls. Yea, pretty good chance of that, if this is any indication... 412 MILLION YouTube views? Lord help ya'. I like the alternate version, with the old guy that goes to the supermarket. Bruno Mars is not like a Beiber, he actually has talent. Heck, he's on the MTV Music Awards tonight. |

Seems like he is in the minorities of what the mainstream radio stations are playing these days. Thats what popular music needs more of.. I can understand if someone doesn't like his style, but you have to respect him...I mean if this is correct, and I am assuming it is, he is doing it in a way I am sure most of us would call the right way. |

Yes, he writes, sings, plays drum/piano/other stuff - he's working hard and he has my respect for all he's done and maintaining a clean image. Apparently he got Ellen Degenerate to notice him and that pretty much put him out there. But as I said, I'm doing this for my wife. She's a wonderful woman who works hard - I felt it was time to have a special trip for her. I didn't tell her about the concert until last... I said hey let's take a couple days off and go away - I picked a couple days and reserved a nice room overlooking the water... while we're her we can do this and that... blah blah blah - oh and by the way... here - we have 2 floor seats to the Bruno Mars concert. WOW! That got her attention. I really think that the show will be very good, and I've only heard a few of his songs - but I know my wife is a huge fan of his. |

As I said, I prefer this version... ![]() |

Lord help ya'. I love that song. His new disco song I can't stand but I like most of his stuff. Very talented guy. |

His father was an Elvis impersonator. That's when his career started. Bruno Mars is a stage name by the way. From what I see the guy has actual talent, he doesn't appear conceited, puts on a show where he's part of the show - and not "the" show, and is busting his ass on tour selling out many venues. I can understand if his sound isn't agreeable to everyone, but I'm glad there's a show I feel I can take my wife to that will be entertaining. We've seen most all the rock stars from long ago and their recent stuff - that is really kind of getting old. Nowadays you look around at a rock crowd and see nothing but old folks. This show kind of appeals to me, and I'm looking forward to it - but the screaming girls have me a bit concerned. That is just weird, but from videos I've seen of his concerts it just goes with the territory. |

I made part of that song into a voice mail message for my wife's phone: "Today I'm not doing anything - I just wanna lay in my bed - Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone - 'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything" It's a great voice mail greeting! |

It was my ring tone for awhile. I was giving a presentation to a class full of high school students one day on emergency preparedness and my phone rang and I had forgotten to turn off the ringer... Awkward....

I think he's decent - I surprised my wife with 3rd row center seats when he comes to town soon. Just wondering if GD even ever heard of the guy. Supposedly puts on a great show. Wife and oldest daughter saw him in Nashville last week, they said he played about 90 minutes and high energy. |

Quoted: I suppose you're thinking of this? He really does play the piano, and he lost his mother a couple months ago. The word is he thinks of her and this is a difficult song for him to perform live. I dunno, just repeating what I'm told - but I think it's a pretty good song. Quoted: Quoted: You mean the cry baby pussy that sings a song about watching a real man dance with his ex and thinking if he only bought her more flowers they would still be together. Yeah I know who that pathetic pussy is. I suppose you're thinking of this? He really does play the piano, and he lost his mother a couple months ago. The word is he thinks of her and this is a difficult song for him to perform live. I dunno, just repeating what I'm told - but I think it's a pretty good song. Yeah that's the song. As someone who used to be as pathetic as he is by pinning over a girl who dumped him/me, I can tell you he is a weak pathetic guy because my former pathetic self identified with what he is talking about. My advice to him is grow up and move on. If she isn't interest then you say NEXT and write a song about this new amazing girl you just met. He might be a great musician but his songs still suck. This song in particular bothers me because it is reminder of how much life I wasted crying over being dumped and trying to think of more "nice guy" things I could have done. Not realizing that it was the "nice guy" things that made me needy and clingy which is what drove the girls off. That is what this song represent to me, something pathetic, needy, and clingy. It is also the type of "love" song that I grew up listening to. The lyrics on the 80's and 90's love songs taught me that if I'm a nice guy, if I will always be standing their waiting for her, that if I buy her enough stuff then the perfect relationship will magically work out. So that was a big factor into me being pathetic, needy, and clingy always waiting around for a girl. Those types of songs are bullshit and have no resemblance on reality. Think of them the way the Disney Princess movies have warped the minds of young girls today. That's what these types of songs do to men that are trying to figure out how to get a date. |
