We have a Bourbon or Scotch thread at least every other day. I'm sure there's been one at some point, but I can't remember a Brandy thread. GD, teach me about Brandy.

She was only 18 and a virgin when I met her....

       She's a fine girl...such a good wife she'll be....

Brandy is distilled from grapes, the better the grapes the better the brandy.

Courvoisier is distilled from champagne grapes.

My summertime float trip drink is ice cold coke and blackberry brandy. The cheap stuff.

Served in a tall glass with lots of ice

I use Courvoisier & Grand Marnier and skip the sugar.

Not a stripper thread.

I have an apple brandy from Clear Creek Distillery that I kind of like.  I'd try cognac, but the liquor store keeps it locked up, so I always pass by it.

I like E&J VSOP.  Pretty good sipping brandy.  Local place makes pear brandy that is freaking awesome.

I have some Polish black berry brandy that tastes like red Nyquil

My father prefers Armagnac, as he says it's a bit smoother than Cognac. When I asked him for the difference between the two, he answered, "About 45 miles..". He lived in the region as a grad student many moons ago, so I'll take his word for it.

What?

Last I heard - Courvoisier is a cognac, and cognac is a brandy, and brandy is a distilled white wine....

Not sure if still true, but as a lad I was told there was more Brandy consumed annually in Wisconsin that in the other 49 states combined.
Grew up on Brandy Manhattans and Brandy Old Fashioneds.
But then again, I'm an aristocrat.
